This service call was due to my refrigerator water dispenser running at almost a trickle. The Sears Service technician was excellent in his troubleshooting and isolating the problem. However, the cost of the repair was almost $700.00, which I thought was completely outrageous. I asked for a breakdown of the cost of the part vs. labor, and the part itself was $200.00 plus dollars, and the labor was 400 plus dollars. Of course I opted out of the repair. I asked for the part number of the valve that need to be replaced, and I found the brand-new OEM part on Amazon for less than half the cost that Sears wanted to charge. I watched a YouTube video and replaced it myself, which took all of 15 minutes. The moral of the story is, When in doubt DIY.
