You should have the freezer temperature set at 0 degrees, even if you have a French door refrigerator with an ice maker in the refrigerator compartment.
Adjust the freezer setting to 0 degrees if necessary.
Check the freezer temperature or ice room temperature with an accurate thermometer. Troubleshoot the cooling problem if the freezer or ice room isn’t cooling properly.
Check for Proper Sealing of the Freezer or Ice Room

If the water dispenser isn’t working, follow these troubleshooting steps to find and fix the water supply problem:
- Replace the water filter if you haven’t installed a new one within the last year. A clogged water filter will prevent your ice maker and water dispenser from getting water.
- Check the water supply cut-off valve. Make sure that valve is fully open. If your Samsung refrigerator uses a saddle valve for the water supply, cycle that saddle valve shut and back open to clear debris and deposits that could be blocking the small opening that the saddle valve uses to supply water to the fridge. This may restore the water supply going to the refrigerator.
- See whether water is flowing through the water supply line going to your fridge. Shut off the water supply cut-off valve and disconnect the water supply line from the back of the refrigerator. Place the end of the water line in a bucket and briefly open the water supply cut-off valve to check for water flow coming from the end of the water supply line.
If no water flows from the water supply line, have a plumber fix the water supply going to your Samsung smart refrigerator.
If the water dispenser works, check the water fill tube above the ice maker for a freeze plug that could be preventing water from flowing into the ice mold. Defrost that fill tube and the ice maker should work again.
