Common dryer repair parts you may need

Replacing one of these dryer parts may fix your problem.

    Electronic Control Board Replacement

If your dryer lacks power, a faulty electronic control board might be the culprit, hindering the activation of the control panel. Wires link the user interface control board in the panel to the electronic control board within the dryer. When the electronic control board malfunctions, it fails to transmit power and accurate signals to the user interface control and panel, rendering the dryer inoperative. If your dryer appears completely inactive, arrange for a Sears Home Services Technician to visit your residence and address the issue.

    Power Supply Board Replacement

If your dryer isn't powering up at all, it could be due to a faulty power supply board. This board distributes electrical current from the dryer's power cord to various parts, including the electronic control board. If the power supply board fails to deliver power to the electronic control board or the control panel, the dryer won't turn on. If your dryer is completely unresponsive, contact a Sears Home Services Technician to inspect the appliance. They will replace the power supply board if it's found to be defective.

    Heating Element Replacement

If your dryer isn't receiving power, it might be due to an open heating element. This means that the heating element is broken and could cause a short circuit inside the dryer cabinet, leading to the circuit breaker for the dryer to trip. If you reset the tripped breaker and it immediately trips again when you attempt to turn on the dryer, it's advisable to have a Sears Home Services Technician inspect the dryer. The technician will replace the heating element if it's found to be open or broken.
