Most common repairs needed to fix a Frigidaire refrigerator

    Icemaker Assembly Replacement

When your Frigidaire refrigerator ice maker is leaking, the ice maker assembly may be damaged or may not be functioning properly. Gears and contacts inside the ice maker module eject frozen cubes and fill the ice maker mold with water to make a new batch of ice. If the ice maker module overfills the ice mold, water will spill over and leak out of the ice maker assembly. If the ice mold is cracked or damaged, water can leak out of the ice mold after it fills. When the ice maker leaks water, you’ll need to schedule refrigerator repair service to have a service technician examine and repair the ice maker to fix the problem.

    Water Fill Tube Replacement

The fill tube positioned directly over the ice mold drops water down into the ice maker at the end of the harvest cycle to make a new batch of ice cubes. Sometimes, certain conditions can cause the fill tube to crack and leak water. When this happens, water will leak into the freezer or ice maker compartment in the refrigerator. When you find the ice maker fill tube cracked or damaged, have a service technician visit your home and replace the tubing to prevent the ice maker from leaking.

    Water Valve Replacement

The water valve supplies water to the ice maker to produce ice. If the ice mold in the ice maker is overfilling and leaking water, a faulty water valve may not be shutting properly during the fill portion of the ice maker harvest cycle. The ice bin below the ice maker assembly will catch the leaking water and ice cubes will often clump together and won’t dispense properly. When the water valve in your refrigerator fails to shut properly and overfills the ice mold, have the valve diagnosed and replaced by a service technician so the ice maker will resume normal ice production and the ice dispenser will work again.
