Eli was very nice but it was obvious he was inexperienced. After explaining the issue we were having with our fridge, he immediately called a technician at Sears who was walking him through what he needed to check. For the diagnostic fee, we should have had an experienced tech . Will never call Sears again.

Totally ridiculous. Came out for my home warranty company to look at a gas furnace that has a bad heat exchanger. Claimed there was "pest damage" so the warranty company would deny the claim. There is zero evidence of pest damage and there have never been pests in my home. I've had two other independent companies verify the heat exchanger failed due to age. Sears is just scamming and trying to collect service fees while lying to support the warranty company. Avoid them at all costs.

The tech HAD NO CLUE WHAT HE WAS DOING , he was on the phone with his boss the whole time . Took forever to fix the issue , I even had to suggest to use the part that was ordered . Also my daughter overheard the boss tell the tech to hurry and finish up and didn’t care if my freezer door fell off . The food in the freezer was almost completely defrosted and even ruined some of the food .

Don't waste your time or your money with this repair service! I have a GE fridge that is randomly reaching temps of 70 degrees every day, so I called Sears Appliance Repair in Newark on a Tuesday. Their technician came out on Thursday (as scheduled). He was a nice enough guy, but had only had 4 weeks of training. He was on the phone with his supervisor who was telling him what to do and what tests to run. He did some electronic diagnostics, then we took everything out of the fridge and he tested some other parts (eg, evaporation fan) and he couldn't find anything wrong. He put it all back together and basically said he didn't know what was wrong. He said we should call them again when it was running warm again. WHAT?!?!?! Not this guy's fault if the service sent a new employee out by himself, but... geez! He was here for an hour and half and couldn't tell us what the problem was and the only suggestion was to call back if it happens again. Umm.... ok. Then what??? It cost me $137 and I got nowhere with this problem. I asked him to send me documentation describing all the tests he had run (so I don't have to pay someone else to run the same tests) and he said that would be included with the receipt in an email. However, all I got was a receipt saying that my bill was paid. No description of any of the things he did. Bottom line: Complete waste of time and money!! (And today, Sears had the nerve to email me to say that they would love to sell me a home warranty that would cover all my appliances - they'll even give me $100 off!)

Booked an appointment for Tuesday the 23rd. Wife stayed home from work. They had to reschedule, I get it sometimes things happen. I rescheduled with their suggested date of the 26th. They canceled again! Now I’m on a full month with 3 kids without a washer. This is unacceptable and very disappointing.

Technician was rude each time he came to my home. Completely unprofessional. It took 3 months to come back and fix my washer as they said the parts did not arrive but the parts were in my home. They canceled on me through a text without calling to see if I was available for the time they reschedule after taking off from work and sitting home all day waiting for them to arrive.

We have had no experience to rate. Our original visit on 6/2/25 disclosed a bad motor which needed replacement; it was to be replaced on 6/9/25. That visit was cancelled & rescheduled for 6/16/25. Since then, there have been six more cancellations & reschedules with no advance notices or explanations including this past Tuesday, 7/29/25; two months after the original visit. We are completely disgusted with this entire experience; it has been abominable & we are totally frustrated due to lack of communication. We would like to know what our options are for some type of action or retribution. Please advise. Joe Anastasio
