Installed a door handle that would not allow the security door to close. They were to return to replace the handle, and it has never happened!!!!!!!

Siding and gutters

I am extremely disappointed in Sears Home Improvement. I signed a contract to have my wall heaters converted to central heating. Also to install siding and gutters. First, it turned out the I had so much dry rot on the existing exterior walls, so I had to hire a contractor to redo the whole outside walls before Sears could apply the siding. I told Sears I wanted to cancel the order because I didn't know how long this would take because I might need the foundation repaired or replaced. They didn't want to cancel, and said they would wait. Long story short, I have a flaky contractor who is still working on my house. I had to report him to CSLB because of the extreme procrastination. Sears still can't finish the job because the front of house is in a state that contractor has to finish his work first. In meantime, Sears is calling me EVERY day, saying this is taking to long and I might have to pay more money. I have no control as it turns out this contractor has a history of procrastinating on jobs. I'm stress and frustrated with Sears and my contractor,

Not happy with the install nor the product

The installation began 5 weeks ago and the system is not functioning correctly. There is a room (Casita) that is separate from the main house and should not be heated or cooled when the main house is. It has it's own thermostat. Right now the room is being heated and cooled along with the main house even after their 'fix' a couple of weeks ago. Also, a desk was damaged by a worker that was attaching registers to the ceiling and he must have dropped his ladder on the desk and sheared the edge off of a shelf. I brought it up with the installer and he wanted to put the blame on the Coit Air Duct cleaner from days earlier. I knew it wasn't him because the desk was clean until the day the registers were put up then the debris was on the desk, the debris turned out to be the edge of the shelf that was busted off. Back to the installation. I walked outside to look at the outside unit and was appalled at what I saw. I saw the lines running from the outside unit going up the exterior wall and into the attic vent hole, I guess you'd call it. It's the vent that is usually screened under the roof line. Well, they left it open. A big open hole. Open for any crawling or flying varmint to make their way into my attic. They were already aware of my roof rat problem that I have been fighting with an exterminator. There are rat traps in the attic. The installer placed a screen over the vent at my request. I shouldn't have had to even mention that. Aren't there building codes that cover that sort of thing? The Product: I'm not so sure I'm going to like this new HVAC system. It takes too long to get any heat or cool air out of the registers. It takes anywhere from 8 to 18 minutes! I'm used to instant heat and a/c with my old system. Going back to the main problem, the damper's not working properly to shut off the Casita from the main house. I spoke with the installer on Sept 29th and he said he'd schedule something asap. That was 11 days ago. I'm still waiting.

Ductless HVAC

Installers are slops and left my deck full of drill debris but didn't clean up after the job. They also left black shoe prints on my bedroom carpet that cannot be vacuum out and didn't border to clean up even when asked to vacuum the carpet after the job.

Initial person got number of windows wrong. After the 2nd measurements and count of windows the program manager still got number of windows wrong. Sent out screen with holes and to be replaced. I was given two prices and had to write two different checks to correct. This was a horrible experience except for the install guys they did a great job in installing the windows.

Won't turn to sears ever again

Service was good quality is extremely poor. I still don't have a system working 100% just returned to seers because they've been around for a long time that the quality would be there but it is not. I don't even know the name brand of the air conditioner that they put in and never heard of it The heater well it's 100 outside of it. Tried that one yet but having problems already with the AC in it hasn't been in for two months.

Front entry door - complaint

The door is beautiful. It is the installation that has been a problem. When the gentleman was done he asked only for my husband, who did not know what he was looking for other than the door opened and shut. My husband signs off and the gentleman leaves. I inspect the door - the door handle accessories were crooked, the outdoor corners were not tight, the inside door frame was only caulked on one side (top door frame has a large gap), and on the hinge side (about 3 inches wide) he had cut through the baseboard and did not fix it. I spoke with our salesperson who then put in the complaint to the area coordinator. She called and offered us one day that the installer could make the fix, but it was the one day my husband had to physically be at work. The install was 7/11/23, complaint 7/13/23, coordinator called 7/14/23. We have not heard from the coordinator since the 14th. I texted a message (7/31/23) on the thread that she had been sending info to me - no response.
