Can I Fix My Weight Machine Myself?
You may be able to fix some weight machine and weight system problems yourself. Check the owner’s manual for troubleshooting tips common problems with your weight machine. What to do if the Weight Machine Power Won’t Turn On
Some weight machines have an electronic display to guide you through and track your workout. If the display doesn’t light up, make sure the power cord is plugged into the outlet. Also check your home’s circuit breaker to see if it’s tripped; reset the breaker if needed.
Some weight machines have a reset button or circuit breaker located on the console, column, or platform. If the switch has tripped, wait five minutes then press the switch to reset it.
If the power turns off during use, check the reset button as described above. Also make sure the power cord is still plugged in. If you’re not able to find the problem, a service technician should examine the machine.
What to do if the Weight Machine Cables Feel Rough and Are Noisy During Use
Check all the cables to make sure they are secured into the pulleys. If there is excessive slack in the cables, adjust the tension by following the instructions in your owner’s manual.
Make sure all stack guide rods are well-lubricated using the manufacturer-recommended spray or silicone gel lubricant.
Inspect the cables to see if any are damaged. If you find cracks or breaks in a cable, it should be replaced.
What to do if the Weight Selector Pin Cannot Be Inserted
Make sure the holes between the weight plate and the bayonet are aligned. If they are, the selector pin could be bent or damaged; replace the pin if needed.
If the holes aren’t aligned, adjust the bolt on the top plate so that the holes in the bayonet line up with the holes on the weight plate.
If you’re not able to fix the issue, a service technician should inspect the weight machine.
