Setting up this repair was incredibly difficult. There's absolutely NO speaking to a real person up until your service person calls. It is all AI generated texts, phone, etc. You try to call and speak to a real person...Nope. AI assistant is what you get with no option for a person. Trying to pass along important information or ask a question about the appt, nope. They literally scheduled an appt with me, then cancelĺed 15 min later. They could never give me a time, even when I told them they needed to be there by certain time, due to leaving for work. Online...same story. Trying to modify or add any info on your appt page would not work...even when that's what it's designed for. It took a month of frustration, cancelled appts, etc to finally get my issue address. I hope I never have to use them again. Update. The Sears response about calling their number again to discuss, is the same number in which you are not able to speak to a human. It is all Ai generated communication.

I was charged $500 to replace a thermal heating unit in my whirlpool dryer. Found out the part was $17 from Amazon and they charged over $100 for that part and then additional $350 for 20 minutes of labor to install. There was no way to reach a person ahead of the technician showing up to discuss the price. There was also not an itemized bill shared with the customer. I had to ask the technician and he just verbally gave me the information. Very poor customer service and definitely major price gouging.

I went on their website to set up an appointment for someone to come and fix our dryer I filled it all out and then I was a little bit shocked that there was nowhere on there to tell the service tech what the machine was doing so I typed it in and I got an appointment within a day or two the technician shows up and he has no part with him but they charge me $119 to come and tell me what was wrong he said oh yeah it's just a circuit board he says and then he asked my wife do you want to schedule us to come and fix it it's another 400 or whatever dollars she said I'm not sure so he leaves and basically that ended our service call so then I had to go through the hassle of doing it all over again and I had to talk to AI I asked AI I says well the technician bring the part that I need the AI said oh sure I'll make sure that they do the guy shows up two days later again no part I had to get three service calls and it cost me close to $600 to get this dryer fixed and it was just a part that took him less than 5 minutes to put in I think it's a scam all is they're trying to do is to get you to join their service contract which the cost you around $60 a month $720 a year just to have a warranty on all your appliances that's my opinion take it for what it's worth

Sears/Sears Home Service/Kenmore I have documentation to support statements of fact. I called to have my refrigerator serviced as it was not cooling at all. After dealing with the AI system for far too long, I finally got a person who talked me in to their home warranty and stated the compressor was under warranty per the serial number of the fridge. I scheduled an appt for the next day (Valentines day). The tech arrived and stated the compressor was under warranty but labor was not and another needed to be replaced as well. He quoted a price ($562.44) to repair the fridge, I signed it and paid for the repair in order to get the parts ordered. The parts arrived and I scheduled the return appt for 2/18. A different tech was to arrive at 9am. He called at 845am and stated that since the compressor needed to be replaced, he would need to stop by a store to get a part for repair, but would not be long. After no calls all day, he arrived at 245pm, brought in his equipment and went in to kitchen. A few mins later he asked for a waiver to be signed for any damage he may cause and said he would have to use a blow torch for the repair, after a bot of back and forth I signed the waiver explaining that melting my floor was not an option. A few more mins later he got my attention to tell me that the compressor was not covered by the warranty and it would be an additional $500. I explained the woman on the phone verified with the serial number and the first tech did as well, it would be covered by the manufacturers warranty. He insisted it was not and tried to force me to pay the additional $500. I got the impression he either did not want to do the job or did not know how to do the job. I told him I signed the quote and paid already, we have a contract. He was not interested in this info and stated, I would have to pay. I refused and told him to leave. The parts remained at my house as I had paid for them. I tried to call the company about this price gouging and fraud behavior. They stated they could not do anything or see anything since the tech was still on site. I found he was sitting in his vehicle a few houses down. He sat there longer than he was in my house, still "on the job". I was very upset after being transferred to multiple different departments and ultimately being told that I was stuck and would have to wait until the next day to talk to anyone. I clicked on thr link in the appt and rescheduled for the next day hoping to get someone else who wanted to work/knew how to complete the work. At 8am the very next day the original tech arrived, I explained the events that had transpired. He apologized and stated that he should have been the one to come back, but now it would be an additional $500 for the repair. I told him to take the parts, refund the money, and have a supervisor call me. He showed me on the phone he was going to refund the initial payment ($562.44) minus the diagnostic fee of $119. I advised him on the job it showed a coupon code and the diagnostic fee was $59.50. He adjusted the refund and showed me on his phone the amount would be $502.94. I agreed and he took the parts. I called the company to report this interaction, cancel the home warranty, and insure the refund was going to happen. After being transferred to multiple departments I spoke with an agent who refused to cancel the home warranty and stated "Sears can not treat people like this, that they would make it right". I agreed to wait for it to be escalated but his manager was on the phone and would call shortly. 6 Hours later I called back and was transferred to 6 different departments before getting to "Loyalty". A very nice woman explained that the job had to close before anything could be seen or escalated. I agreed to call back 24 hours after the appt. So after 24 hours (Friday afternoon) I called back for "Loyalty" and was transferred to 7 different people who stated there was nothing on file, nothing they could do, it was the responsibility of another department. I finally got a person who stated a refund had been issued for $443.44

While John was extremely nice the dishwasher is having the exact same error as soon as I started it up again. Not worth the money spent.

Cost $119.00 to diagnose problem. Estimate to repair was $500.00 to replace drain pump. Part retails for less than $60.00. Sears charging over $120.00. Declined repair and bought new machine for less than $600.00.

Not happy at all. I was notified via email that a Sear’s serviceman was coming between 1:29 and 2:29 PM. The actual serviceman, (?Anthony) sent us a text as he was heading up our driveway. He wasn’t even here 15 minutes, and said that we had a loose wire in our furnace and checked nothing else out! We’ve sat here in the cold for over a week, and we are 74 years old! Anthony spent more time collecting his $75.00 service fee from us than he did on our furnace. I sure hope that was the only problem with our furnace and it keeps us warm on these colder days. We used our homeowner’s warranty, If the furnace goes out again, I will be calling my old, furnace repair man— and have them document what the problem was, and then report it to CHW!
