DO NOT CALL SEARS !!!!!! We called in a ‘Sears Certified Technician’ to repair fridge, repair washer, and service dryer… An early to mid Twenties aged, heavy set young man comes into our house with muddy tennis-style shoes (not boots, and not clean) is very rude and abrasive asking what the problems are with everything, this is somewhat scary to my wife, who is home alone, (all day waiting on him btw) he then walks to fridge opened up all the sections on our fridge, stated he couldn’t get parts for the fridge and we’d have to buy a new one and can offer us a discount/free delivery. Then went to washer (did not put fridge pieces back). The washer/dryer are located in the back bedroom, he goes into bedroom (in his muddy shoes still because my wife is afraid to say something at this point) opens his tools from a bag and then sets them directly on my bed that had bran new sheets on it and ruined them. Technician then goes on to say he could order parts for washer but it would be over a two weeks b4 getting them, then would call to reschedule us in after that (roughly$350-$650 quote ?!?). Finally he says he could service the dryer however, he goes on to say ‘that it’s really not worth it because he basically just wipes it off, cleans lint and tightens screws that can be seen/accessed without moving it’ ($120 quote ?!? …at least he told us this was a scam from Sears Home Care as well 🤯?!? …honestly it’s the only decent thing he did while in our home). We did not have him “service” the dryer, or have him come back to do any work (his worthless scamming visit cost us $150, plus $85 again to buy new sheets, $235 total cost to us after waiting two weeks to have him show up, then all day on that day as he got there at 4:58pm). We got on Amazon, ordered a $14 part including shipping, put it in and fridge works fine again. As for washer/dryer we ended up purchasing brand new stack Whirlpool set at Menards, the only place around town that had a set, in stock, that we could take home that night. Relatively obvious why Sears is now nearly extinct from the world, such a shame after basically having the original internet/big box store with the Sears and Roebuck Catalog, we will NEVER call Sears for anything again, we even switched out/gave away all Craftsman hand tools. DO NOT CALL SEARS !!!!!!

Technician did not make sure the dishwasher repair worked. Needless to say, it did not. The technician bolted out of the house and immediately drove off in his truck after we asked him to stay and make sure the dishwasher worked. Normally, the technicians would sit in their truck and complete paperwork. Had he done this, we could have let him know the repair did not work. We are notifying Transformco and the Chicago BBB. Please note that it has been since November 2024 that we have been trying to have the dishwasher repaired.
