My OTR microwave oven failed in early October and was referred to Sears Appliance Repair by Lowes for repair under warranty by an Assurion warranty. The technician from Sears who came after about two weeks, diagnosed the failure and called the results in to Assurion (or Sears) and was told that the unit was to be repaired and parts were ordered and delivered but I could not get a repair service call earlier than November 12th. This tech attempted to repair the unit but found that the problem was misdiagnosed and the parts ordered did not fix the problem. Now, Assurion has agreed to replace the unit, but I don't know how soon. I have now been without the microwave for at least a month and not sure when I will get a replacement. I am not pleased with the service response time.

The workers, Brett & John before him, were both very helpful and we were happy with their service, knowledge and help. The company, however, seems to rely on a nonfunctional process, which provided wrong info, sent robo calls/emails on wrong day, basically became a no-show because our scheduled appointment was cancelled the day we’d agreed upon and had been waiting for them, etc. overall the most terrible experience!! Less than one star for the COMPANY itself. The employees in direct contact with us as customers were competent. Feedback: Ditch the AI or whatever unhelpful software system is being used, or risk any future repeat customers. I’m not sure we can go through this ridiculous time wasting and stressful process again.

We were told to spend $750 to by xyz part from another tech. New tech comes (to do the install) and tells us dishwasher is unfixable……and that we will get a 50% credit on everything we bought??? Not a good experience at all.

Technician was great; company (Sears)...not so much Although I had a good experience with knowledgeable technicians (thus the 4-star review, for the tech) customers should know it appears “Sears” is doing the very bare minimum to remain in business and is now an AI “chatbot only” company. You are not permitted to even speak with a real human. Here’s what happened to me: • 8/7 – Placed initial claim through warranty company. • 8/15 – First appointment canceled. • 8/21 – Tech shows up, orders parts, sets follow-up for following week. • 8/28 – Follow up appointment canceled, pushed out more than 2 weeks. • 9/11 – Rescheduled follow up canceled again, pushed out another week. • 9/18 – Technician finally shows up to complete the job As you can see, almost 6 weeks to complete a repair job which is completely unacceptable. Every time an appointment is confirmed by email and text for days leading up to the appointment, then canceled on the day of service. The “reschedule” options provided upon cancelation are often weeks away. I repeat: there is no customer service and you cannot speak to a real human. Everything is routed through an AI chatbot that gives canned responses and has zero accountability. The system is deliberately designed to frustrate you until you give up. The company will take your money, but when it comes time to actually honor the warranty, they disappear behind endless cancellations and worthless “support.” This company also appears to use an algorithm to prioritize “full-pay” collect call-ins and will boot other lower priority customers (like those who have warranty service) whenever it benefits their bottom line. This is no way to run a company. Tech grade = A. Service Grade = F.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend the company I purchased the insurance through (Assurance), and I certainly would not recommend the company they use to do the “actual” service (A&E). They stiffed me the first day after sitting there all day, then rescheduled on another day. When the guy finally showed, he was there 10 minutes and told us to clean the dryer vent. We’ve had our dryer serviced before and the person vacuumed and cleaned as much as he could and spent an hour working, when he could’ve done the same as this guy and left after 10 minutes. Not to mention he was very unfriendly and could care less about helping us. I would recommend not using any of the companies I mentioned. Update as of 8/20/25: I called the 800# that you gave me, and that was an even larger waste of time. People I could hardly understand kept apologizing to me and passing me on to other people, until I got to the point where I couldn't get a human being to speak with. Again, what a complete waste of money and time and I would warn people not to purchase the insurance from Assurant, and definitely do not deal with A&E, or Sears Repair, or whatever you call yourself today.

I’m trying my washing machine for the first time since it’s been repaired I come in and the top front corner is all scratched and the door where you put the detergent and other liquids does not fit tight or snug anymore

Spent 140 bucks for them to tell me the filter was not GE issued. It was a 3 pack purchased from GE and the other two worked this was the last one in the package. Waste of my time and money to have them come out.

We will never use Sears again. When making the appointment on the phone I asked multiple times how much it would cost and the representative NEVER mentioned a $300/hour fee. She only mentioned the diagnostic fee. I asked if there would be additional costs and she was vague but "no, unless he needed a part and had to come back." So I was very pleased after setting up the appointment. However, I couldn't believe it when I came home and my husband told me how much they charged us for the visit that took at most 30 min. Never again

Unfortunately, I had to wait 2 weeks for the 1st technician to come and diagnose the problem. Parts were ordered for the repair which was another 2 weeks. Tech installed parts- waited 2 days for system reset but fridge/freezer still not working. Techs that arrived were professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Just very disappointed in the time it's taking to resolve the issue.
