If my ice maker starts working. Allen said to give it a couple of hours. He was very nice and polite. Good worker you have in him. Edit: it's been a couple of hours, no ice yet !!!! Bummer.

Royce Came back 4 times trying to get the right gasket, gave up, one new door gasket and one new original split gasket now. Have to talk with the warranty replacement people. Not his fault. He was very helpful. The Sears process on the other hand leaves much to be desired.

The technician left all of the ‘bad’ refrigerator parts strewn about the kitchen. I don’t know how I am going to dispose of them.
Customer service response - I'm really sorry for not clearing up the mess left behind by our technician after servicing your refrigerator, it certainly is inconvenient. Thank you for your feedback, and we will take necessary steps to ensure this does not happen in the future.

Recently needed a dryer repaired and i can say the technician and service were good. The repair took less than 20 minutes and cost 445 dollars with a 300 dollar charge for the labor alone. Thats ridiculous. Thats why they get 2 stars.
Customer service response - We apologize for the trouble you've faced, Jamie. This is not the experience we want for our customers. Please contact us at searshomeservices.com or call 1-800-469-4663 so we can assist you further. Thank you for your patience.

Sears Home Service was scheduled to repair my dryer and initially set an appointment for Wednesday between 8 AM and 5 PM. However, at 1 PM that day, I was notified that the appointment was canceled and rescheduled for Thursday. The same thing happened again on Thursday, and then again on Friday. When I finally managed to secure a Monday appointment, the technician arrived an hour late. Upon arriving, he briefly looked at the dryer (I had already removed the cover to give them easier access to the motor) and claimed they couldn’t service it. Then, without resolving the issue, he left. To make matters worse, I later received an email with a form showing “my signature” agreeing to his inability to service the dryer. I never signed anything—the technician forged my signature. This is completely unacceptable and a serious breach of trust and professionalism.
Customer service response - We apologize for the trouble you've faced, Derek. This is not the experience we want for our customers. Please contact us at searshomeservices.com or call 1-800-469-4663 so we can assist you further. Thank you for your patience.

I have always used Sears for appliance service, however this was the last time. On Friday 1/3/2025, I scheduled an appointment for a tech to show between 8:00 am and noon on 1/8. On the Sunday the 5th, I started receiving text messages from Richard the AI Virtual assistant with Sears Home Services to modify my appointment to 1/7/2024 between 1pm and 5pm. This proposed time worked for me, so accepted the new appointment, and received no message back with a confirmation. Repeat the whole procedure on Monday the 6th. On the morning of Tuesday 1/7, I again responded to AI assistant Richard and actually received a message back thanking me for the response. But contained no confirmation of the appointment. Okay, that is weird, and nobody showed. So I planned on the original appointment . On the morning of the appointment, I receive a message from Cal the technician assigned stating that he will arrive between 2-3pm. Remember my time was between 8am - 12pm. I responded: No, you were scheduled to be here between 8-12 and I have to work at 1:00. Hours later at 4pm, Cal responded that I can call Sears and reschedule. I do not respond. Later yet, at approximately 5:30pm I received an email and text message stating the technician showed at my location, but I wasn't home. This angered me, I took the morning off for the appointment and according to my daughter and Ring doorbell, he never "showed at my location". So this was a flat out lie. I responded to Cal the technician stating "hey, I was home at the scheduled time and you didn't show. Cal responded with "We had a tech call in sick today, you were added to my route around 9:45am. I reached out to let you know I would be there past the time window, and I was running furnace calls in Champlin, Brooklyn Park, White Bear Lake, Oakdale and Minneapolis. I'm sorry it didn't work out. I 'not homed' the call so it can be properly rescheduled by Routing. They will reach out to you." I quickly reply, "That's not the point, I don't care how it was assigned to you. I was home at the scheduled time. That's on you and Sears to accommodate a sick technician. Not only that, it says you came to my home, but you didn't. My ring doorbell didn't record you and my Daughter said no one came to the door." It seems Sears is doing an impression of their defunct department stores, instead now technicians are out of stock. Use a local repair shop, I know I will.

This was the worst service I’ve ever had. I told them the issue with my dryer was that it needed the vents cleaned from the roof down. It cost me $100 for them to walk in the door to tell me exactly what was wrong with my dryer, which is that it needs the vents cleaned…. But guess what? They don’t do that. Totally ripped off.
