Extremely disappointed with Sears Home Services and Sears Protect. I bought a Sears Protect home warranty in early April 2026 thinking it would give me peace of mind. On May 6th my Genie garage door opener needed safety sensors replaced. I scheduled service through Sears, expecting to only pay the $100 service deductible clearly listed on my contract. Instead, I was charged $255.37 after discounts. The technician and billing treated it as a regular paid repair instead of honoring my active warranty (Plan #784333333). No one applied the deductible or processed it as a covered claim. Making things worse, trying to open a claim or get help was incredibly frustrating. The website is difficult to navigate and doesn’t clearly show how to file a claim under my existing plan. Calling several numbers and couldn't actually connect with customer service. I expected the warranty I’m paying $81.99/month for to actually work when I needed it. Instead I got surprise billing and poor communication. Very disappointed in the entire experience. Will be looking elsewhere when this plan expires.

We had an appointment scheduled between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. for a refrigerator repair. Throughout the afternoon, the estimated arrival time kept getting pushed back, which I understand can happen. The last update we received was around 4:30 p.m., indicating that the technician’s arrival was estimated for 5:20 p.m. By 6:30 p.m., no one had arrived, so I contacted customer support to ask whether we should still expect someone that evening, as I was trying to decide whether to cancel dinner plans. I was told that dispatch would call me right away and that they would still try to have a technician come out. By 7:30 p.m., I had canceled my plans—yet no one arrived. At 9:00 p.m., I called again and was informed that the technician was still tied up with another complicated order. While I understand delays can occur, what’s unacceptable is the complete lack of communication. No one reached out proactively to update me, which caused unnecessary inconvenience. To make matters worse, I was then told the next available appointment wouldn’t be for another four days. This level of service is extremely disappointing. If a customer failed to show up for an appointment, I suspect Sears would have consequences for that—so why isn’t the same respect shown for the customer’s time? Our schedules are just as valuable, and we plan our days around these appointments.

Highly unsatisfied with the service. Technician had no idea what they are doing. Trying to overcharge and adding services that were not needed.

There was no repair. The technician never showed up, but sent me a visit summary and a request for feedback. Complete unreliable. I cannot get a hold of a person.

Your tech was fine..it was not his fault that he was not given the information that the light was out in the freezer section of the refrigerator. He told us we would have to order a new light and the total cost of parts and labor was around $429....REALLY!!!!!!?????? That is absolutely ridiculous! So we had to pay for a tech to tell us that in about 10 min, and the charge was $129!!! It is truly no wonder why Sears went out of business! And I can guarantee 💯 I will never purchase another Kenmore product!

My Tech Anthony showed up with attitude and complaining about how much he hated this job. He said that he was going to vacuum my dryer from the inside out but that if he had to do that Sears would charge me extra for him doing it. I told him that we had our vents and whole system clean inside out from a company that my condominium association hired in order to prevent fire hazard and that if he’s just assuming that my dryer doesn’t work for a little of lint then I was going to clean it but that I still wanted him to figured out what the problem with the dryer was and why it was not drying and turning on and off on it’s on and beeping sound before he was deciding on the diagnostic procedure and charge me extra for it. That I would clean it my self and then I did . He when out to his truck and came back with his vacuum cleaner machine and took the whole dryer apart to clean it with. There was nothing inside the dryer it was clean but he still sat there cleaning it as if it was dirty. I started recording him with voice recording in which I mentioned to him from the beginning that I would record him when he started saying that I would be charge extra. I decided to do a video while he was taking the dryer apart and he got even more disrespectful asked me to stopped recording him or else he would walked out and not fixed the dryer. I have voice recordings and video recordings to prove it. Then he was apologetic about it stating that Sears was pressuring him and that with only two months on the job he’s getting ready to quit. He offered me his phone number and stated that if after he vacuumed the inside of the dryer doesn’t fix the problem to call him and not to call Sears and that he would come and fixed it for me.he got down on his knees and called me his queen and said his apologies to me . It was a very unpleasant and uncomfortable situation for me .

Technician never showed! I received paperwork to my email saying the service was completed. HE FORGED MY SIGNATURE!!!!! The disregard for the customer is astonishing. I have never received such poor service. And there is never a human to talk to. The customers are literally just service order numbers put in a computer. I’ve had at least 7 service calls attempting to get our refrigerator fixed or replaced. It’s been over 3 months with no resolution. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life!!

It Took the 3rd person Lyn Holbrook to fix the washer - neater of the other 2 knew how apparently- only took Mr Holbrook 2 minuets to figure out what w As wrong - only took him 5 minuets to fix it- you should apprentice the others with him- actually except for Mr Holbrook the service was terrible- I was out of a washer nearly 4 weeks mostly for delay after parts (wrong Parts arrived was nearly a week before anyone Came- would not recommend your company except for Mr Holbrook
