Ice-maker stopped working 6PM on our 10-year-old Whirlpool fridge... got on-line, did a quick search and found SEARS Home Services, went to repairs and entered refrigerator Model and Serial number along with issue being seen, and made a scheduled appt. for the next day, while also signing up for text alerts... so hit the OK button and immediately got a confirmation email and IM that night, then an email and IM next morning confirming visit and smaller time window, from the technician Peter R. to arrive. Peter then called me 30 mins before arriving in a SEARS van spot on time. Very nice gentleman, he explained there is a SEARS specialist for each type of equipment, and he covered fridges and freezers. Asked a couple more questions about the issue, then got right into diagnosing the issue... after working for a while, and testing all he could, he concluded and then explained clearly to me that the ice maker looked like it had failed, and needed replacement - he had one on the van, courtesy of the model/serial No. information previously entered when scheduling the appt. New unit was installed in 30 minutes, fridge closed, and ice is being made as if he was never here - and I thank him for being a very clean, neat and tidy worker, so we can see why he is rated at 5 stars ! I am very pleasantly amazed by the easy on-line scheduling, the genuine next day service, the availability of replacement parts and the quality of the SEARS personnel like Peter, and I like that the service call charge is considered part of the final repair charge if the on-site quote is accepted and as a bonus, SEARS had a 10% discount voucher on-line that was also successfully applied. Would use this service again, in fact have just scheduled a repair call for our cooktop for also next day.... Great job Peter and SEARS - thank you.
