Our service technician (Mike) came in and evaluated our refrigerator. It was the freezer that we thought was the issue. Excessive frost had been accumulating in it but Mike determined that there was nothing wrong with the freezer. It’s possible that it had not been closed properly on multiple occasions and this likely led to the excessive frost building up.
