The technician had to return to my house for the same work order because understandably he had to order parts. The parts arrived for both jobs and the same technician came to my house for the same work order and said he could only fix the microwave and not my washer because he didn't have a work order. They both was on the same work order . My washing machine is still broke. And he left. Did not call the office to try and solve the problem

Why are you asking for a review? He never showed up yesterday or today’s appointment. I received a text for my appointment for both days. He never contacted me to say he wasn’t coming. This has been the worst service experience I’ve ever had at Sears and my dishwasher still needs to be repaired. I have been a long time customer since the seventies. I have called many phone number trying to get help for the last two days.

Technician never showed up. I received a text with "technician is on his way" and that was it.

The ice-maker component of my side-by side freezer/refrigerator stopped working on Saturday, Sep. 26 and I called Sears. The earliest appointment they could offer was Oct.7th, which later was moved closer by one day. The first repairman needed additional parts, which had to be mailed to my home. A second (later) visit revealed that wasn't the right solution and yet another part had to be ordered, requiring yet another repairman visit. Ultimately, the job was completed on October 14th, 19 days after my side-by side had conked out. During that time, I had to buy dry ice every other day in order to keep both units cold enough to keep the food safe from defrosting. This caused a cost of approximately $12 per day (i.e., a bit over $220 total). The Sears policy paid its maximum benefit of $50 total for that loss. Every Sears person I spoke with (especially the repair men) was polite and sympathetic. Overall, I would not recommend this insurance coverage to my worst enemy.

About 1-2 months ago we had to have our washing machine serviced because the start button would not depress correctly. When the technician came out he saw the problem and we had to wait 10 days before the part would be in and he could come back to install it. When he did, it was the wrong part. He had to order a new part that wouldn't be in for another 10 days. He didn't offer to rush it, and didn't offer to come right away. Plus, the part was coming from a 1.5 hour drive. When we tried to reach the technician to express our dissatisfaction, he never returned our calls. A new technician arrived for the installation of the second and correct part. It had arrived a few days before the last appointment and even though we had asked if it would be something that I could install, the technician told us "no". When the 2nd technician installed it, it was literally 3 screws and one simple connection, something my 6 year old could have installed. The second technician was sympathetic for the issues that we experienced and stated that usually a reorder would be overnighted and they would work it in to be here as a priority. This was obviously not the case, and we ended up without a washing machine for over 3 weeks. Completely unsatisfied by Sears.

Tues March 29 Tech came to assess refrigerator repair. Ordered parts and said he would return on April 12. April 12 Tech returned to make repairs. He fixed the freezer but did not fix the leak on the inside ceiling of fridge. April 23. Different tech didn't arrive within window of time while I stayed home waiting. No call. Finally he arrived 45 minutes after window of time. He stared at his computer and asked me what was wrong. I explained that it leaks. He touched the inside edges of the ceiling and called his company, A&E. They told him I need a new water tank. I told him how does he know that when he never opened anything besides my refrigerator door and touched the edges. He said he needed to order a part. I said no, thank you. He did not do any diagnostic examination. He called his company and they told him I needed a water tank. This is not professional service. That man did not know how to assess or diagnose.

I talked to someone over the weekend who spoke too fast with an accent and I couldn't understand half of what she said; that was an interminable and stressful start. The repairman came on Tuesday, looked at my circuit breakers and told me the one for the dryer was weak. How could he know that when it hadn't even been tripped? He couldn't. Then without even looking behind the dryer, he told me the dryer heating unit wasn't getting power because there was something wrong with my electrical system and that I would have to call an electrician. So I found an electrician with a very good reputation and made an appointment on Friday. The electrician checked the circuit breakers, which were fine, and the electrical output at the source, which was also fine. However, the dryer prong had a slight twist to it and was discolored from getting hot. I had the electrician go ahead and replace the plug, even though I have a warranty, because it had already been almost a week and laundry was piling up. The first time I used the dryer the heating unit worked, but the display showed 38 minutes, then a code of AF, then 40 minutes, then ten minutes later the display jumped to 46 minutes. The second load I did was pretty much the same: correct time 38; Code AF; timer jumped to 40, then about 20 minutes later jumped to 46. The last time I used it, it showed 38 minutes and gave me no code for the first few minutes, but 25 minutes later the timer still showed 21 minutes so it had obviously changed again. Now I have to use a kitchen timer to time my laundry on a thousand dollar machine that is only 14 months old. There is obviously something wrong with this piece of junk, but I'm in the midst of undergoing eye surgery and not able to sit on the phone for an extended with someone from India who I can't understand. I've found the whole experience extremely frustrating and will never buy from Sears again.

A refrigerator repair "diary": The story started when a technician (1) came to see my broken refrigerator and diagnosed that evaporator, dryer and compressor need to be replaced. Another technician (2) came after few days and replaced them (damaged some plastic covers inside refrigerator while doing it). Refrigerator did not work so another technician (3) came to diagnose the problem - he looked at the board and based on the indication given by the LED light on the board, he figured that the board needs to be replaced. He also stated, that the previous diagnosis was wrong and the replacement of parts was not necessary. The technician (1) came after few days to replace the board. He removed the old board, installed the new one, put the cover on and plugged into electricity. The refrigerator did not work after this fix. [Question for an independent reader - if the diagnosis was done by looking at the board LED indicator, should not the test be done also by looking at the board indicator?] The story continues ... Another technician (4) came to diagnose the problem. Checked the refrigerator and said: "dryer filter needs to be replaced" (fyi, it is one of the parts that was replaced by the Technician (2) three weeks ago) . Since he did not have all needed tools with him, he scheduled the repair for another technician the same day. The technician (5) came few hours later, checked refrigerator, asked questions and said that also other parts need to be replaced (essentially all the parts that were replaced by the Technician (2) three weeks ago) and scheduled the repair in 2 weeks. So far I had 5 technicians in my house who spent together more than 10 hours (of my time as well) and did 2 repairs. Each technician had a different perspective on the refrigerator issue. I have huge headache and even bigger confusion concerning Sears technical expertise. The repair is going on for one month already. A horrible experience with Sears Appliance Repair! Will keep you posted ... Seventh visit happened recently - a technician (6) came and spent approximately 5 hours trying to diagnose/fix the issue - he was not successful :( Said it is non-repairable and tagged it accordingly. He also said that we should hear from someone from Sears about this but not sooner than in three business days. Epilogue: Our refrigerator was after one and half month formally pronounced non-repairable (death) and I am just wondering what would happened if the refrigerator would not be under the warranty. I would most probably call a non-Sears appliance repair service and what do you think, would it get fixed and how long would it take?
