Rubin the tech was fine, once he got to the house. There was poor communication related to his arrival time, which wasn’t his fault. The day before, I was notified the tech would arrive between 8 and 5. The morning of the repair, I was notified the tech would arrive no later than 10:00, and I would be notified if he were delayed. By 4:30 the tech finally arrived, although he did call me 10 minutes prior to let me know he was in route. I tried calling Sears Home Services throughout the day, but their AI system could only give me his original arrival time. Because I thought the repair would occur in the morning and no one could provide updated info, I wasted an entire day waiting.

When the repairman called I told him that WE Energies had inspected the gas smell from the stove and determined that the igniter for the oven was bad. I told him he needed to have the part with him to make the repair. I gave him the model number. He said he had to inspect the problem and get the serial number to order the part. When he arrived he got the serial number and made calls to find the part. He said it would be next week to get the part and make the repair. He estimated it would cost $664.00 for the repair. I said I could buy a new stove for that amount and to not do the repair. I was charged a very large amount for the visit. I will not be calling Sears again for repairs.

The entire process with Sears was extremely frustrating and took far too long to complete. Not being able to speak with a real person and being forced to use a computer system was very disappointing and inefficient. No one ever came out initially to properly diagnose the issue and order the correct parts, which resulted in five parts being ordered and multiple visits before the problem was finally fixed. While the technician was polite and tried his best, he clearly was not ready to be working on his own. Sears needs to provide more thorough training instead of sending inexperienced technicians out without proper support. This situation could have been resolved much faster and with far less inconvenience if it had been handled correctly from the start.

Repairs are complete. It take a very long time to receive the proper service. A month from the time service was requested. My repairman Rubin wasn’t friendly at all.

Technician was ok....its Sears themselves who lied about fixing the appliance when making the appointment. Said to give them Make and model number and serial number and the issue so their Technicians would be prepared to fix the appliance upon arrival. Then said they dont have the part. They must order it about one week. Nevermind go elsewhere

The Sears contractor arrived within a reasonable period of time. While he was working. I left the kitchen to speak with a concrete contractor and show him the areas under consideration. When I returned to the Kitchen, the Sears contractor had completed his work. There was a piece missing from my dishwasher that was nowhere to be found. He told me it was purely cosmetic, and he could not call it in because I had already exceeded the allowable amount for the current work order. I was told to wait two weeks and call it in. Also, a spring was ordered for the dishwasher door. According to this Sears contractor who completed the repairs, I did not need this part. However, I am sure I was charged for it. This did not go well. Needless to say, I am not happy! Note: I believe after having paid $58.23 for approximately two and a half years with no service calls, the need to pay at least an additional $100 when I need to use the plan is overkill.

do not use this company! There is no telephone number you can use to contact them, its all computerized. In my case they did not come on the day they said they would. The next scheduled date they show up without the right staff and finally on the third schedule they came but the install resulted in damage to our cabinet.

While the technicians themselves are professional and kind, the administrative side of Sears Home Services was a project management nightmare. Our oven repair required three separate visits and a lot of work on our end: Visit 1: The technician couldn't find the parts (noise filter/terminal block) in the Sears system and asked us to order them ourselves. We were charged a diagnostic fee. Visit 2: A different technician told us we actually needed a full wire harness. He couldn't confirm the compatible part number, so we had to find and order it ourselves. We were charged a second diagnostic fee. Visit 3: The original technician returned and finally completed the repair using the parts we sourced. The Bottom Line: You cannot speak to a human operator; the company relies entirely on AI/automated systems for communication. If you use them, be prepared to manage your own supply chain and pay multiple diagnostic fees for the same issue.

I would avoid at all costs. Had a $130 service call to diagnose drainage issue on washing machine. Was told drain pump and motor needed full replacement and would cost $700 (washer was $650 new). Had another service take a look and was a simple clog. Tried to call Sears back to discuss the issue and they are AI only and will not connect you with a live agent or customer service.
