It took awhile to get to the point where we actually had a technician take care of our brand new washing machine. It was filling with water even after the cycle was done and machine was off. They ordered parts that were sent to our house. The technician was able to install the new parts and I’m happy to report I have a washing machine that works now. The machine was brand new, so no extra payment was required.

I’m giving 5 stars for Eric our Tech. He was courteous, prepared, called ahead, and did a great job diagnosing and repairing our refrigerator. The process to get him here however I would give 0/5. Which is no reflection on him. Although getting someone out quickly is a plus, the AI assistant used to schedule and communicate is pretty much worthless. After scheduling I saw the AI got my address wrong. I tried to amend it and it started a new work order. A second tech showed up that day and when I answered the door he just barged his way into my house. Had no identifying clothing or badges IDing himself as a sears contractor. Then came in the kitchen and started telling Eric what to do, which by the way was completely wrong. He then hung out trying to talk to him while Eric was fixing the problem to the extent I had to escort him out of my house. Long and short Eric was fantastic, the AI bot and whoever the second guy was, not so much.

Appleton's hard municipal water, drawn from the Fox River Valley and Lake Winnebago region, is one of the biggest factors behind appliance wear here. Mineral scale builds up quietly inside dishwashers, water heaters, ice makers, and washing machine components, shortening their working life. Add long, cold winters that push furnaces and dryers into heavy year-round use, and appliances in this area take on a real workload. Many homes near Downtown are older, with laundry in the basement and compact original kitchens, while newer subdivisions on the north and west edges near Fox River Mall run larger, feature-rich appliances. Our manufacturer-trained technicians know these local patterns and how to address them.
A refrigerator that won't hold temperature is a fast route to spoiled groceries. Common culprits include failing compressors, dirty condenser coils, worn door gaskets, and faulty thermostats. In Appleton, hard water is a frequent offender for ice makers and water dispensers, where mineral buildup clogs lines and slows or stops production. Older Downtown kitchens with tight cabinet cutouts can trap heat around standard-depth units, making airflow and coil cleaning especially important. Newer counter-depth and French-door models in 54913 subdivisions benefit from periodic water-line and filter checks. Our technicians diagnose the exact cause and provide a fixed quote before any work begins. Routine coil cleaning is a simple preventive step that extends refrigerator life.
When a washer won't spin or drain, laundry piles up fast. Failed drain pumps, worn belts, clogged filters, and faulty lid switches or control boards are all common causes. In Appleton, hard water accelerates detergent scaling and wear on seals, valves, and pump components — a failure point local techs see often on aging machines. Homes near Downtown frequently keep laundry in basements or utility areas, where tight spaces and older plumbing add complexity. Our manufacturer-trained technicians repair both front-load and top-load washers from most major brands. Using the right detergent dose for hard water helps reduce buildup and prolong seal life.
A dryer that runs but won't heat usually points to a failed heating element, thermal fuse, thermostat, or gas igniter. In century-old Downtown homes, long or aging vent runs restrict airflow and trap lint, which strains the machine and raises safety concerns. Appleton's cold winters mean dryers — gas and electric alike — see heavy demand nearly all year. Clogged venting is one of the most common issues we correct, and it often masks itself as a heating problem. Our technicians service both fuel types and check the full airflow path. Cleaning the vent line annually improves efficiency and reduces fire risk.
Dishwasher trouble often shows up as standing water, leaks, or cloudy film on glassware. Clogged drain hoses, worn door seals, failed pumps, and faulty float switches are typical causes. Appleton's hard water is the primary driver of scale buildup on spray arms and heating elements, which reduces cleaning performance and clogs jets over time. Older homes sometimes have retrofitted undercounter installations in compact kitchens, where drainage routing can complicate repairs. Our technicians pinpoint the source and give you an exact quote up front. A periodic descaling rinse helps keep spray arms clear in hard-water households.
Uneven baking, a range that won't reach temperature, or burners that won't ignite are frequent oven complaints. Faulty bake or broil elements, igniters, temperature sensors, and control boards are common causes. Appleton's strong Friday fish-fry cooking culture means ovens and ranges get heavy use, and older Downtown homes may have dated wiring or gas connections that call for careful service. Larger new-construction homes often feature double ovens and island ranges with more electronics to diagnose. We service both gas and electric models from most major brands. Recalibrating a drifting oven sensor can restore even, reliable baking.
Appleton's climate demands a lot from home comfort systems on both ends of the year. Furnaces carry the load through cold, snowy winters with January lows near 10°F, while central air handles humid summers with July highs around 81°F. Common problems include failed igniters and flame sensors on furnaces, low refrigerant or failed capacitors on AC units, and defrost or reversing-valve faults on heat pumps. Leaf and pollen debris from mature trees and nearby parks can foul outdoor condenser coils, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles stress equipment over time. Sears Home Services repairs furnaces, central air, and heat pumps. A seasonal tune-up before peak heating and cooling season helps prevent breakdowns when you need the system most.
Costs vary by appliance and the specific issue. Your technician provides an exact quote — parts and labor — before any work begins, and that quote doesn't change once provided. A diagnostic fee of $90 to $150 (depending on the appliance) applies and is waived if you proceed with the repair.
We're available six days a week with early morning to evening appointments. Same-day appointments may be available in your area — check for same-day availability when you schedule online or by phone.
Our manufacturer-trained technicians repair most major brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, Samsung, LG, GE, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Amana, Bosch, and more — no matter where you bought the appliance.
Most refrigerators last about 10 to 15 years. If yours is under 8 years old and the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new unit, repair is usually the smart choice — it's also easier on the environment. Our technician can help you weigh the options after diagnosing the issue.
Schedule online or by phone, and your manufacturer-trained technician diagnoses the problem on-site. You'll get an exact quote before any work starts. Once you approve, we complete the repair, test the appliance, and back it with a service guarantee.
Yes. Your technician provides an exact quote — parts and labor — that's locked in once provided. You approve the cost before any work begins. If you decline, you pay only the diagnostic fee.
Our technicians provide appliance repair throughout Appleton and nearby communities including Grand Chute, Menasha, Neenah, Kimberly, Little Chute, and the greater Fox Valley. We serve both Downtown neighborhoods and the newer subdivisions near Fox River Mall.
Yes. Fox Valley water tends to be hard, so mineral scale builds up in dishwashers, water heaters, ice makers, and washing machine parts over time. This can cause cloudy glassware, reduced water flow, and premature wear. Periodic descaling and filter changes help, and our technicians can spot scale-related issues during service.
Clean refrigerator condenser coils a couple of times a year, clear your dryer vent annually to fight lint buildup and improve airflow, run a descaling cycle in your dishwasher to manage hard-water scale, and don't overload your washer. Scheduling yearly preventive maintenance catches small problems before they turn into costly repairs.
