I have no problem with the repair technician himself -- he was clearly following corporate policy. However, I prefer a company that takes a customer-oriented, solutions approach over a lawyer-oriented policy approach. E.g., we needed help making the refrigerator accessible to the service technician. Sears -- and by extension, the technician -- simply says "we don't touch it until it's made accessible by the customer." This is NOT a solutions approach . . . you could, for example, have offered the required manpower as a secondary, paid service. Also the technician quoted, with a straight face, an estimate to repair the dishwasher that was more than a whole new, comparable dishwasher would cost. In solutions-selling he would have said as much, counseled purchasing a new unit, and maybe provided some sort of token discount if we purchased through Sears. Oh yes, and when I called to set up an appointment -- on a Tuesday -- the [Indian?] telerep said, again with a straight face, "your same-day service is scheduled for Thursday." What? And, again . . . when I have to sign 4 or 5 different documents each basically saying that I waive your liability for one thing or another, clearly you've allowed your attorneys to be in charge. And all this follows my recent disappointment with Sears after buying a riding lawnmower from the company, specifically because they vaunt their onsite maintenance and service -- then discovering that they do NOT provide onsite service in my area, even though I sit midway between Portland, OR and the state's largest suburb: not exactly out-of-the-way. Sears Repair used to be exemplary, but now I know that if I have other options, I'll use them.

Arrived on time, very friendly , gave me information on cooktop burners Took a while to get the parts but Eduardo did a great job replacing my cooktop burners on my JennAir cooktop.
