The positives are, they were able to get me an appointment the next day, and the Tech was on time and very helpful. The repair is to replace the start button on a dryer, and they were trying to charge over $500 for this. To rebuy the exact same dryer brand-new is $550... Sears marks up the parts cost and wanted to charge over $300 in labor.

Overall rating

Does not communicate arrival window until just before arrival. A customer has to wait potentially 9 hours before arrival. With available technology today, Sears Appliance Repair does not offer short 2 hour arrival windows like some of their competitors do.

Technician never showed up for 2nd appointment to fix dryer after ordering parts after first appointment. Technician at 3rd appointment was different guy not knowing what was wrong with dryer. Technician at 3rd appointment said wrong part was ordered to fix one of the problems with dryer. Was not able to talk to anyone about these issues or for scheduling the 3rd appointment. When you call in you get recorded messages and prompts you have to go through to try to get problems fixed and schedule appointments . Very frustrating Been 3 weeks trying to get my dryer fixed also technician did not properly hook back up the dryer exhaust. Started dryer and felt hot air immediately fill up laundry room

The tech did well however the overall experience with Sears was terrible. My tenants were without a refrigerator for a month due to nonavailability of parts for a GE product. You can never reach a live rep.

HIGHLY HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! We never received an estimate and no way to contact Sears to get the estimate. Only an automated service that runs you around in circles stonewalling you. No email, the chat doesn't give the option to ask for an estimate and the phone directs you to the website that also gives no way to get the estimate from the technician and no way to talk to an actual person for help. HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND HORRIBLE COMPANY. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Tech didn’t know what he was doing. Was on the phone the whole service call asking for help. $130 just to look at it and quoted a $760 repair for our dishwasher for a new pump and installation . We declined and had a Lowe’s plumber come out and fix a clogged hose for $150. I will never use Sears again.

Unacceptable service and complete lack of competence. Murtaza M. was assigned to fix both my washer and my dryer, and he completely failed on both appliances. He originally came out for my dryer on June 4th, but his repair was completely ineffective and the exact same issue persisted. Because of his poor workmanship, I had to file recalls and take time off work. I was forced to lose an entire day of wages waiting around on June 18th, only to have the appointment canceled and pushed back. I rescheduled everything for June 19th so both appliances could finally be handled together, costing me a second full day of lost income. When Murtaza finally showed up on June 19th, he claimed he didn't even have the dryer recall assigned to his tablet and would only look at the washer. He then claimed to "fix" the washer, but after he left, the washer is STILL not working. It feels like nothing was actually repaired during either of his visits. Because of Murtaza's poor workmanship and incomplete service, I am now stuck having to file two separate service recalls for both appliances. His inability to properly diagnose and fix a problem the first time has cost me two full days of lost wages.

There is zero customer service - all AI. You cannot speak to a human being once the technician leaves your home. Your only option is to schedule another appointment or get stuffed. No phone number to call.
