Did not have a good experience. The technician was able to get my freezer drawer open, but could not assess the issue unless I purchased the labor cost. I declined to do this because the cost was too much. I could probably purchase a brand new refrigerator.
Yvonne,
My technician himself was good, but trying to get someone out here was horrible. I was cancelled on 4 times. And the appointment time span is from 7am-5pm which means I had to take off of work each time. Took almost a month to fix my broken fridge.

I am changing my 5 to a 2 start. After the technician fixed my oven and left. The fan motor was running when he left and after 4hours I had to turn the breaker off until they could return a day and a half later to fix the fuse/breaker that he had taken out. He put it back in and it stopped running
Dana L,

It took four trips to get my oven fixed the wrong part was ordered three times. I had to take off work four days and on one the visits that was scheduled the repair man did not come. The phone number to talk to a person is very hard to find they said he would call but never did. Hopefully it is fixed.

Took nearly 2 months for this repair. My original appointment was set for 3 weeks out. It was then changed after the tech ordered parts 2 days out and before looking at my dryer. The part came in before the repair date but the date was still pushed back 2 more weeks. Another tech then arrived and realized that this tech had ordered the wrong parts because he never showed up to diagnose the problem. The second tech ordered the correct part and scheduled a return date. The part arrived prior to my repair date but again, the appointment was resched for 2 additional weeks out. I called the 800# only to talk with a virtual agent who informed me that there were no live agents available anymore. However, I spoke with a live agent when I started this plan. Very frustrating process.

Canceled my appointment. Three hours overdue with no time update or any communication. Automated phone que with no human to speak with. I have used Sears in the past and was satisfied. Never again.

Absolute Disaster. Emotionally Exhausting and Inhumane “Service.” Sears Home Services broke me. I’m not being dramatic — they literally made me cry. What started as a basic dryer repair through our home warranty turned into a months-long nightmare while I’ve been caring for a three-month-old baby and trying to keep up with laundry for a blue-collar husband coming home in filthy work clothes — with NO dryer. That includes dealing with constant baby blowouts, washing clothes, towels, and blankets around the clock, and being forced to put my infant in crusty, air-dried clothes because Sears could not perform even the most basic service task. I contacted Sears at least two to three times every single week — often more — desperately trying to move this along. They shipped parts to the wrong address despite me updating the address before shipping. One agent would say it was fixed, the next would say they could not update addresses and would send me to Speed Queen. Speed Queen already had the correct address on file. This created a never-ending loop of misinformation and finger-pointing. After weeks of waiting, the parts were finally reordered and were delivered to our correct address — yet Sears still claimed the technician did not have the correct address. How parts can be delivered correctly while the technician allegedly cannot find the address is beyond comprehension. Appointment Rescheduling Chaos: After Sears rescheduled my appointment out to March 20th without my consent, I manually rescheduled it through their appointment page back to 02/25. Sears then rescheduled it back to March. I rescheduled again to 02/25. Sears moved it back to March. This cycle repeated multiple times. Each time, agents claimed the address had been “updated.” This was not true. Despite the correct address being clearly entered in the special notes, our 02/25 appointment came and went. There were no phone calls, no technician arrival, and no notice. The appointment was simply missed. I had been hoping to speak with a real person during the technician’s “on the way” call so I could explain that our correct location is just four doors down from where Sears kept sending technicians. That call never came. Throughout this entire time, we repeatedly called both the Sears 1-800 number and a local 254-area-code number attempting to reach a human being. Both numbers route into an endless automated menu loop. You cannot reach a real person. Even the so-called local number simply redirects to the national call center with no human support available. In total, I spoke with eleven Sears agents and eight Speed Queen agents. I was escalated four times. No one ever followed up. No one ever called. No one ever took ownership of this case. At this point, it is abundantly clear that you are better off paying out of pocket to repair your appliance than attempting to use Sears Home Services through a warranty. The so-called “coverage” is meaningless when it results in weeks of stress, exhaustion, emotional distress, and missed appointments. This company is disorganized, dishonest, and utterly heartless. Their systems are broken. Their agentscontradict each other constantly. Customers have zero control, zero transparency, and zero support. If you are a parent, a working family, or anyone who relies on functional appliances, do not use Sears Home Services. This was not just bad service — it was emotionally draining, disrespectful, and unacceptable. I will never use this company again, and I would not wish this experience on anyone.

I used Sears Home Services for an ice maker repair. After multiple visits and payment, the issue was never fixed. I ultimately hired an independent technician who immediately diagnosed the actual problem and completed the repair successfully. When I disputed the Sears charge, I ran into a bigger issue: there is effectively no way to escalate a problem with Sears Home Services. Communication is routed through automated systems, and even when the work is not completed correctly, responsibility is deflected rather than addressed. The process was time-consuming, frustrating, and far more expensive than using a local repair service. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend hiring a reputable independent technician instead of Sears Home Services. Update: Sears responded with an apology and a phone number, but that number routes back into the same AI-driven system that caused the original problem, with no practical way to reach a real person. After more than six weeks of documenting the issue and disputing the charge because the repair was never completed, I ultimately won the dispute. The amount of time and effort required was significant, and many customers would likely give up and absorb the loss. Real accountability and accessible customer support would make a meaningful difference here.

Technician left and job was not complete, issue not resolved, no testing done by the tech to determine if issue was resolved because 'he wasn't gonna stay here all night'. Started the dishwasher myself after he left and water began pouring out from under the unit. Spent the next hour on my belly trying to tighten a loose hose clamp. He had me signing off on his phone several times calling it 'unused parts return' and 'photos'. Can I give no stars? He had no idea about the parts shipped and took the machine out and put it back before he realized that he needed to install the new motor and thermostat together. Pulled the washer out again and installed that but, still no heat from the element in the bottom as of this review. Only one loose screw was holding the kickplate on and it was rattling. Found the other screw across the floor, thank goodness. I'm a fool for signing anything at all.
