Darrick, the Sears representative, was outstanding. He was professional, knowledgeable, and knew how to complete the job efficiently. I greatly appreciate his professionalism. All of the technicians who have done work on my appliances have been great with the exception of one, recently. I’ve dealt with Sears for over 30 years; my parents for another 30 years. On another note: I do want to add that the telephone service representatives need to be retrained. Many of them have language barriers and most of the time do not understand what you need. Also, the automated system does not work well (at all) and never gives you the options you need. I’ve also learned that this is not the Sears everyone could depend on. The company was bought by a Wall Street businessman who has caused severe chaos. Here is what I’ve learned: “It (Sears) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on October 15, 2018, and sold its assets to ESL Investments in 2019. The new owner moved Sears assets to its newly formed subsidiary Transform Holdco LLC and after that, Sears Holdings Corporation was closed.” Be careful with these plans that they offer; very duplicitous. There is the master plan and the home repair plan. The master plan was the best when I could purchase it in the store. The home repair plan is questionable. Ask lots of questions so you do not have to deal with months of frustration and a $100 upfront fee before the technician comes to your house. My experience with these plans, especially the home repair, is a 10-thousand word essay. The most positive thing about my experience with this new Sears is technicians like Darrick, who are professional, hard-working people trying to make a living.
