He did not notify us of appt, either day before or day of. After examining the problem, he said he would refer it to the warranty office. No contact from that dept. When we called that office, they had no record of a referral, that the issue had been closed by this tech. Now we are dealing with making time for an unnecessary second appointment.

Michael, the tech that came was precise with me about my Black& Decker freezer that I had stating it was a throw away. He did no work on it tried put a little heat with a heat gun on 2 perimeters of the gasket to see if by chance it would be of any help and left. For this consultation I paid $129.00 plus tax . Leaves me feeling empty and dissatisfied. They could have told me over the phone maybe.

Stay away from Donavon! He is rude and doesn’t know what he’s doing. First he parked in the one way drive way and when I kindly asked him to move his car so my wife can get out to go to work he raised his voice “well where am I supposed to park then?” I asked him to park just a few feet away on the street parking. He did move his car reluctantly. He then collected the deductible payment for the visit to check out the AC. Then he asked where the AC is and I told him it’s at the guest house, and I pointed to the garage apartment at the side of the house. He responded “what, you got me out here and it’s a whole different house we have to go to? This won’t be covered”. I replied that it’s the same address, just at the garage that’s been turned to a guest house. I walked him to the ac unit and he began taking a look at it, and I went back into my home. A few minutes later he came back and asked me if another AC technician had been looking at the unit because it looked disconnected and had leaking oil around it. I told home someone did take a look at it, but hadn’t actually done any repairs on it yet. They were just an additional opinion. Donavon asked me what they diagnosed, and I told him I’d prefer not to say. I want two independent opinions. This really upset Donavon. “What do you mean you’re not gonna tell me? If I turn on the unit I could cause damage and I need to know what they found!” Again I told him I wanted independent opinions. After he started yelling I finally conceded and showed him the other AC technician’s report as I handed him my phone. He read it carefully and exclaimed at some of the things that were written, namely the size of the ac unit on the outside not matching the inside, which is something you should be able to tell just by looking at the units making me think Donavon doesn’t really know what he’s doing. He then took a picture of the report on my phone without my permission. Then he said he forgot to have me sign on his payment terminal after he collected payment earlier, so I signed the payment terminal screen. Later after he left, I received an email from Sears stating that the AC had prior damages done to it like it being disconnected and having valves with leaking oil. And at the bottom of the page was my signature stating that there were prior damages and it wasn’t due to their technician. Donavon lied about what he was having me sign for! Now I have no idea if he was messing around and caused damages. He left my home shortly after getting my signature under false pretenses. I’m hoping this man doesn’t represent how Sears treats its customers, but this was a very bad first experience. Do not let Donavon anywhere near your home or family!
