Three appointments to fix one problem with a Kenmore washing machine. The first repair tech, I thought, only did annual maintenance calls and therefore had to days for an appointment with a tech. The tech looked at it and even though the annual maintenance tech put it into his computer that the problem was a circuit board, the tech had to order it, no resolve on second visit. Now I'm waiting for a part to show up so that in a week and a half the tech can come back out to install it. Terrible efficiency from Sears. Original call I told them it was a repair appointment.
Michael B,
three reset appointments and took almost three weeks to repqir my dishwasher. BTW the Kenmore brand is trash
Bo R,
well, where do i start, had them come out 6 times because my fridge was not cooling properly. first guy ordered the compessor and other parts, then came the second guy, he said it wasnt the compessor because it was cooling a little??so he took the parts with him, so he changed out the board panel in back and left, still was not cooling right. then came the third guy, he replaced the fan and thermostat on the bottom freezer. he left. still wasnt right. then came the Forth guy. he told me to unplug it for 45 min. then plug it back in,that didnt work. so he came out the fifth time and decided to order the compessor and other parts AGAIN, now he came out the sixth time and installed the compressor and drier and now it works fine.Imagine that.Should have done it the first time and would have saved everyone time and money. CRAZY!
Ruben D,
I won't use the service again. I was charged a $99 diagnostic fee for a guy to ask me what is wrong with my washer. I was charged for a part, I am still not sure was faulty. He arrived over an hour later than his 4 hour window. Didn't go through a full test of the machine nor the fix. He left and washer still didn't work. A second guy had to come out and reset the computer. Still not sure that maybe a computer reset was all that was needed. Both guys tried to sell me a warranty system for electronics at $50 a month! $600 a year to cover appliances? plus a service fee if they came out to service something. I gave two stars because the second guy seemed more credible.
Lisa B,
The service I finally received was excellent but it was a week later than scheduled. Apparently my original technician got sick on my scheduled repair date. This is understandable; people get sick. What is not acceptable is the fact that no one informed me of this and I waited 4 hours for a technician that never showed up. I never got a phone call, email, or text from Sears explainjng the situation. I called the next morning to inquire about what happened and was told the technician was ill and missed all of his appointments the previous day and that my service call had been rescheduled for 5 days later. To make matters worse, the technician that showed up to fix my appliance informed me that I owed over $200 more for the job for which I already paid over $300 three weeks prior. This new tech explained that the $300+ was for the parts that were delivered and that the first technician that came out should have explained the balance required for the labor and the helper that came along. I asked for a discount due to my inconvenience but was told that was impossible and that I could receive a discount on the home maintenance plan if I chose to enroll for 12 months. I declined the offer. As I said before, the two men that ultimately showed up were polite, efficient and capable. I’m just disappointed and dissatisfied with the lack of customer service regarding the technician that never showed. We have been buying from Sears and using their repair service for years and never had a problem so this was such a surprise to me. We are all busy and time is precious. I will think twice about calling Sears for repair next time. Susan Katy, Texas
Susan D,
The Tech told me that he expedited my order. However, turns out that ONCE AGAIN Sears and/or Tech did not order the part correctly. I'm with a partially functional refrigerator for at least two weeks.
Louis J,
Can't trust this business. They swindled me into overpaying for a much cheaper repair. I had a tech come out to diagnose what was wrong with my washer. He told me it needed a part replacement for 265. I thought that was pretty expensive for a basic washer part but I bit the bullet. Parts and labor came out to 365. I was impressed that he finished the replacement so quickly but was shocked to find the receipt saying that part was 90 bucks and the labor was 247 dollars. 247 dollars an hour of work? I'm convinced I've been scammed and mislead. No way should an appliance repair man be charging that much. Top flight mechanics don't charge that much to fix cars. They have some explaining to do. Especially the tech Nikhil.
Asif B,
Repair tech no. 1 arrived on Monday. Said the pump on the washer needed replacement. Charge of $468. He replaced it and left. Tuesday I tried to use washer and the drainage problem still existed. Called and Wednesday technician no. 2 arrived and said I needed two new controls at $298 each. Then he tells me they can’t get one of the controls, so he can’t fix washer. I told him to remove the replaced part and refund my money. He said “call the office”. After three calls to the office they finally agreed to send out Tech no. 3. I am waiting on a credit to be issued. Cost of parts would have exceeded the cost of replacement of the washer which I now have to do anyway, plus the aggravation and gross inconvenience of three days waiting on their service personnel.
Eileen S,
I called them only. They do not service tools, so i did not use them. They could not even provide me with a place to get what i needed.

I will say my repair man was very nice and worked fast. However, he was not a good communicator and I do not feel like Sears honors, the policy they have posted online in conjunction with what my repair man told me. My dryer was drying just fine, however it started squealing a bit. I looked up the problem online, and it said it just needed to be greased. I contacted Sears and was told the diagnostic went towards repairs. When the technician got there he told me he was just going to charge me for routine maintenance and it would be better since all he had to do was greece, the part. He took the dryer apart super quick and sprayed grease on the part and then put the screws and stuff back in. After telling me he was going to charge me for routine maintenance, I only imagined I was either going to get charged for routine maintenance only or the diagnostic fee alone would have covered the routine maintenance, either way I would have been fine with. When it came time to pay, he told me it was $325 to spray, some grease on a part in my dryer. Then, he said, he has to charge the diagnostic fee, and also for routine maintenance because he just sprayed greece on it and there was no part needed they had to change both. I have to admit I was a bit shocked by this. We both knew what the problem was before he even diagnosed it and I was upset that it wasn't communicated with me that he would be charging both and that, unlike what it says on the website that the diagnostic fee does not go towards repairs. I asked the technician, if they would have charged the diagnostic fee as well if I would have got a part and she said, yes, because I did not have the sears appliance repair plan. On the website and on the automated message, when you call the schedule a repair it says nothing about an appliance repair plan being required for the diagnostic to count towards repairs. I would never have used them if they were honest about this information up front.
