Ricky was great but my service window was 8 a.m. til 12 noon. He arrived at 2:45 p.m. Not his fault but if I'd known how long I'd have to wait, I would have called another service provider.

The service technician didn’t follow up with me I had to call him. Automated systems are NOT PREFERRED. He couldn’t find any issues, so I hope I WON’T BE CHARGED if he has to come back out.

I had an appointment on Monday. Middle of the afternoon I receive a text that says I wanted to reschedule. I did not ask to be rescheduled. So I waited another week. Spoke to the technician. He said see you soon. I called him when it was getting close to 4. He said I will call you back. I get another text that says my appointment has been moved again to the next day. No explanation. I took off for three days. Your company is not reliable. You’ve lost my business.

Predatory Business Tactics Our dryer stopped working so I called around. Sears quoted $140 for diagnosis. Expensive but we needed it done quickly. We had just gotten home from a weeks long hospital stay and had piles of dirty laundry. The technician took about 15 minute to diagnose it. Said 3 parts needed replacement and that it would cost me $430! Mind you I paid $100 for the dryer, it was a quick diagnosis, the repair sounded simple enough (just unscrewing a few parts and replacing with new ones) and he said he had the parts on him. I declined and asked him for serial numbers. Bought the parts myself ($15 total for aftermarket) and fixed it in an hour. A trained technician could have done it in 20 minutes. Sears Appliance Repair is using a tactic that abuses the customer’s time and fear of sunk costs. The diagnostic fee of $140 is non-refundable so if you decline an outrageous $430 quote then you’re still out $140. Sears knows enough people will feel the pain of the sunk cost and will be desperate enough for a working appliance that they will just agree to an absurd fee. Embarrassing. I called Sears Appliance Repair to speak to a supervisor or whoever coaches the technicians to come up with their quotes. Not to get the tech in trouble but to get some answers after getting fleeced for $140. Got connected to a foreign call center that couldn’t tell me much. Also asked Sears to email me the technicians report but they never did. All the people I talked to in person or on the phone were nice.

Everything went well once the repairman arrived, but everything leading up to that was unsatisfactory. We originally scheduled the repair for Thursday, June 6 and I received texts confirming that (including on the morning of the 6th), but the website had the service call listed as for Friday - so it was moved without consulting us. The window was 8-12, and the website initially had the estimated arrival time as 10:15. Then it moved to 11:20, then 12:50, then 2:15, then 4:20. He finally arrived after 4pm. So we ended up waiting around the house all day. When I tried to contact someone to understand the timing, it was nearly impossible to reach anyone until I finally called in as a new customer and only then was able to reach a human. It makes no sense that you all could be so far off the estimated time of arrival. If there were customer visits ahead of us, as the experts, you should have a better feel for how long they will take so you don't string us along all day. Also, your website sucks. it is embarrassingly simplistic and not user friendly. You need to upgrade it.

I will save you from having to read this entire review, here are the cliff notes, and this says it all SEARS HOME SERVICE APPLIANCE REPAIR IS THE WORST HOME SERVICE APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANY EVER - THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT - THEY HAVE NO LIVE PERSON YOU CAN SPEAK WITH - WHEN THEY ARE A NO SHOW FOR SIX WEEKS IN A ROW OR MORE, GOOD LUCK IN TALKING TO A LIVE PERSON - PHONE IS ANSWERED BY A ROBO AI JERK ANSWERING SERVICE, AGAIN NO LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! Now if you would like to read on feel free. Unfortunately there's no negative star ratings to choose from, If there was it would be a NEGATIVE 99,989 OR MORE. Sears Appliance Repair is absolutely the most unreliable appliance repair company that I have ever dealt with. I am a licensed Teaxs Real Estate Broker and worked with many many service companies either directly or via home warranty companies. I have to say, Sears Home Service Appliance Repair is the worst. I've been wanting for over a month or more for the Sears Appliance Repair technician to return to my house and finish my refrigerator repair. I'VE BEEN WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR FOR TWO MONTHS! Out of the two months five or six of the weeks have been waiting for Sears Home Services Appliance Repair to return to put my refrigerator back together. As of this writing I just checked online once again my appointment has been rescheduled for next weekend and when I call the AI answering service now says it can't locate my service request, so much for AI. I’ve never seen anything like this, I now know why Sears had to file for Bankruptcy!!! I am going to reiterate you can’t speak to a LIVE agent with Sears Home Services, NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER! The answering service will kinda mock you by saying quit trying to talk to a live person it ain't happening stick to the three choices given or hang up. If you choose to do business with Sears this is how it will go down, they will schedule you electronically and give you an 8 hour window an entire day you must give up. So you will plan your life/day around the 8 hour window. The day of service, the day you have rescheduled appointments, taken off work, etc., around 7:00 AM the morning of your appointment (if you are lucky) or just randomly could be mid day or later in the day after the scheduled appointment time, surprise you get the reschedule appoint notice. Remember no live person, so you don't get a call to let you know that you've been rescheduled and don't bother calling the AI answering service to ask why. I'm starting to think maybe SEARS HOME SERVICES APPLIANCE REPAIR IS A SCAM, JUST COLLECTING SERVICE FEES from people and never returning to finish service. They do collect personal and payment info from you and what do they do with it. It's unfortunate I have to use this company as they are the appliance repair vendor for First American Home Warranty. I have complained to First American Home Warranty and they told me that they can't get a hold of anyone and that is one of their primary vendor for appliance repair. Sad to say I paid a service fee for my refrigerator to be repaired, they collected money and never returned! I’m sure other customers have done the same and/or are currently having the same issues with the same outcome. More importantly this dosen't look good for First American Home Warranty as well. Sears isn't the only guilty party in this entire nightmare or appliance repair fiasco, First American Home Warranty also has played a role in this by not having additional service providers or doing a better job vetting their current vendors such as Sears Home Services Appliance Repair. Again I've been trying to get my refrigerator put back together and repair finished for almost two months. If you come across SEARS as an option for your appliance service repair or they are a vendor for your home warranty company - AVOID THEM AT ALL COST - THEY WILL COLLECT A SERVICE FEE - THEY MAY OR MAY NOT SHOW UP TO FINISH THE JOB, IN MINE OR YOUR LIFETIME!!!! SO BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

Winfred was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was very friendly and personable. He diagnosed the problem and helped us develop a plan for the final repair which is scheduled for the following day. Update on my review. I changed my review to a 1 star because I was unable to change it to 0 stars. At the initial visit, we were told that we needed a new compressor and that would solve the problem. We were told that it would take several weeks to order a new compressor through Sears and a faster option would be to go through Centex Refrigerator repair since they did not have to go through ordering from Sears and the compressor was the same. We chose that route and set up an appointment with Centex. We were instructed to order the compressor directly (around $600) and they would get it and install it (around $600). After a scheduling issue, the person who worked for Sears Appliance Repair ended up doing the install as a contractor for Centex. Afterwards, the refrigerator never worked. It took a while to get someone from Centex to come out. When he did, he stated that the compressor was working fine but there were other issues and if he worked on them that he could not guarantee it would work. He stated that there was nothing he could do about the compressor and we were basically out of luck. So now we are out around $1300 without a functioning refrigerator and are purchasing a new one. I tried to contact Sears and discuss this but there was no way to get in contact with a live person and just sent to endless AI representatives. Since Centex was referred to us from the Sears representative, I thought it should be a reputable company. I am very unhappy and feel we should be reimbursed for the compressor and installation. I do not know what other recourse I may have but will investigate further.
Bennie M,
Customer service response - Thank you for your feedback, Bennie! We're glad to hear Winfred was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly, and that he assisted in planning the final repair.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR REPAIR SERVICE THROUGH SEARS. You will never be able to speak to a human with any questions, and the labor costs are about double what anyone else charges.
