Despite having an appointment window from 8:00 - 12:00, the tech team did not show up until around 3:30. The email status updates last reported an ETA of 2:28. How hard would it be for someone to alert me earlier in the day that the team wouldn’t arrive until mid-afternoon. Bryan was very nice but ultimately the diagnosis was an estimate of $1700 for an appliance that new would cost less than half that. Adding to the aggravation was that when Bryan attempted to run the credit card number he had on file, it generated a fraud alert so when I attempted twice to enter the number it came up declined. I then used a different card but when my wife spoke to the fraud group she said it was a legitimate charge. End result: paid twice.

Bryan is an excellent Sears technician. Very friendly and knows his stuff having done this for 40 years. He did a great job explaining things and fixing the issue. I'm extremely happy with the service I received from him today. Update - next day. After I gave my review, I did a load of laundry and the dryer is not working right. I called Sears and spent an hour and a half on the phone trying to get someone to come back out here. I spoke to three different people with no success. I gave up as I had to leave for an appointment. I was pretty frustrated at that point. I asked my wife to try and she Googled searched and found another phone number to call. She got through and spoke to a lovely woman who set up an appointment for a tech to come back to our house today. I wish it was easier to communicate with them on the phone to get things done. The lesson here is to always check your appliances before the tech leaves rather than taking their word that everything is working fine.

Extremely POOR customer service, absolutely no follow up after initial service appointment and all contact with this poorly organized organization is with an AI which is very limited in assisting customers. The technician was the only good part of this very regrettable experience. Evernote my home warranty couldn’t get a hold of an actual Sears representative to resolve a dryer part problem for over a month. Sears NEVER kept me the customer in the loop and had zero communications with me. The only way to track the repair job was a VERY limited on line site that was extremely basic at best. I am in my sixties and this actually rates as the worst experience I’ve ever had with a repair company.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I waited 6 days for refrigeration repair. Food spoiled, water leaking all over. No place to store my food and meds. On the day of service I received a text that the technician would arrive in the afternoon. That time came and went and it was only after I checked where he was at I was told that the appointment was cancelled because they overscheduled. Funny how this happened on a Friday afternoon. NEVER AGAIN!
