Despite having an appointment window from 8:00 - 12:00, the tech team did not show up until around 3:30. The email status updates last reported an ETA of 2:28. How hard would it be for someone to alert me earlier in the day that the team wouldn’t arrive until mid-afternoon. Bryan was very nice but ultimately the diagnosis was an estimate of $1700 for an appliance that new would cost less than half that. Adding to the aggravation was that when Bryan attempted to run the credit card number he had on file, it generated a fraud alert so when I attempted twice to enter the number it came up declined. I then used a different card but when my wife spoke to the fraud group she said it was a legitimate charge. End result: paid twice.

Bryan is an excellent Sears technician. Very friendly and knows his stuff having done this for 40 years. He did a great job explaining things and fixing the issue. I'm extremely happy with the service I received from him today. Update - next day. After I gave my review, I did a load of laundry and the dryer is not working right. I called Sears and spent an hour and a half on the phone trying to get someone to come back out here. I spoke to three different people with no success. I gave up as I had to leave for an appointment. I was pretty frustrated at that point. I asked my wife to try and she Googled searched and found another phone number to call. She got through and spoke to a lovely woman who set up an appointment for a tech to come back to our house today. I wish it was easier to communicate with them on the phone to get things done. The lesson here is to always check your appliances before the tech leaves rather than taking their word that everything is working fine.

Did a good job once here but many appointments set with no one showing up and no way to contact. Also waiting all day is unacceptable

The technicians were great, but through no fault of their own the appointment window is 8am-5pm and twice at the end of the day Sears contacted me to reschedule for a different day. It apparently is impossible to talk or send an email to any person at Sears about your service other than the tech when they're finally on the way. (Witness the carbon-copy AI responses to bad reviews below.). A good repair but a frustrating experience. I will certainly think twice before I buy another appliance with warranty coverage provided by Sears.

Worst appliance service experience ever. So far we've spent over $1,000.00, and the problem still isn't fixed. Never again will we use Sears Appliance Repair. It is a scam 100%! We are actually pursuing legal action against Sears Home Services as we speak since there's no customer service escalation path within Sears Home Services.

The AI service call system was the worst possible. After providing details on the service call request multiple times it did not give the technician any information on what today’s service call was all about. It supposedly provided updates on the service technician’s timing on the service day but incorrectly notified me that the I was the next stop and the technician was in route, which was incorrect and he arrived a few hours later The only person I was able to speak to was a woman who called prior but She had no clue about my service call details. She called to sell appliance warranties. A spam call I had already purchased from Sears the replacement part (door boot) prior to service and the labor cost was high - in excess of $350 The technician Vincent was the only positive and was great to work with I will be posting in various media about this very negative appliance repair service system, as others need to know about this
