The service technician was polite and kind, but the initial problem still hasn't been solved. Not all of the parts needed to correct the problem have been ordered. This simple repair has been going on for weeks.

Absolutely Useless Service – Worst Experience Ever This is by far the worst service experience I have ever had. I have been trying to get my LG front-load washer repaired since October in the Poconos area, and after four months, Sears Home Services has done absolutely NOTHING. Technicians either never show up or cancel at the last minute without warning. Appointment after appointment wasted. No respect for customers’ time, no accountability, no professionalism. Trying to contact Sears is a complete joke. You cannot reach a real human being, only useless AI and automated messages that lead nowhere. LG claims their hands are tied, which makes this entire setup even more ridiculous. Four months without a washer and still no solution. This company is clearly incapable of providing basic repair services. If you value your time, your sanity, or your appliances — STAY FAR AWAY FROM SEARS HOME SERVICES.

A disaster from start to finish. First, when one tries to make an appointment the only option is to chat with and AI Bot. Access to a human is not possible. Second, the arrival widow is 8AM to 5PM with no way to narrow it. Third, a call from the technician on the arrival day is promised to narrow the window. Ours came at 5PM. Fourth, I scheduled service for a fridge and washer; they sent a technician that could only handle washers; there was no record of a service request for the fridge. Fifth, the technician could not find the washer model on the Sears system even while the Bot assured me that the band was in scope. Sixth, without the ability to reference the model, no service was possible. Quite a day, no?

I want to address how my home and family were violented by your rep stealing from my home. On 8/14/2025 I had one of your service reps by the name of Robert A Van Orden come to my home and perform my 6 month maintenance on my AC system. He stated that all of my systems were working fine and stated he was the one that serviced my system as well in 2023. I noticed he had one of my belongings I keep in my basement in his hand that is always keep near the unit he looked at. He then ended his conversation after I brought up an issue about my unit being serviced that year and the person who did it actually broke my unit causeing my husband and I having to replace our outside unit because they broke it never said they broke it ane we didnt find out till the next maintenance was done. I then put 2 and 2 together and realized it was him that did it. He then left but didn't give me the item he took which was tape I brought myself so I had to chase him to his car and ask for it back and asked why did you take this. He stated he thought it was the service ppl that came 6mnths ago mind you he has no idea who that person was nore did he ask me if it was OK for him to take it. He got into his car pulled off I then decided to go look at my cameras I keep in my basement. I noticed he stole more than just my personal tape. He stole my scissors, the units user guide, and some screws I had near the unit. The is unacceptable I don't ever think it's ok to have items stole from my home especially by someone from your company. I want this issue addressed ASAP. I called him and asked why did he take the other items from my home and he just repeated that he thought it was the other service ppl that came the year before I then stated how dare you steal items from me off an assumption instead of asking me about said items asking if it was ok for you to touch or take them. I don't feel comfortable with your representatives anymore because now I feel violated and disrespected and I want this addressed I need a supervisor, management, or owner of your company to contact me about this. Hecis a representation of your company therefore you are also to vlame for his atrocious behavior. I'm not happy and again feel extremely violated.

The repair itself was great. The delay in getting here could have been avoided. They ordered parts from Amazon and were notified when the parts arrived but were looking for me to call them. They charged me 300% over what they paid to Amazon for the parts and of course the labor. Its theft I am currently waiting for a response from their billing department.

I had a problem with my Sears Kenmore gas range. The bottom gas burner in the oven would not light. I know a little about electronics and mechanics so I checked it out and it appeared that the igniter for the gas valve was weak and would not trigger the gas valve to open. I contemplated fixing it myself but decided to arrange for Sears to repair it. I indicated on the appointment form what the problem was. The diagnostic fee was $140.00 and would be wavered if I decided to use that service to repair. Fair enough. When the Tech arrived, he looked at the igniter element and said that it was weak and needed to be replaced. Same diagnosis I made. He then told me that the part was $80 and the labor cost was $350 to replace it for a total cost of $455.00. This is a 15-minute job with removing the old ignitor, re-connecting two wires and removing and replacing a few screws. The part sells on the Sears parts website for $33.32 and they were charging me $80.00. The labor charge of $350.00 for 15 minutes work was outrageous. Unfortunately, we needed the oven that evening to start cooking for some guests coming over and I really didn’t have an option but to pay for the $450. Before booking the appointment, I had tried to get an estimate from Sears, approximately what it would cost to replace the Igniter. There is no way to know ahead of time what your labor cost will be for a particular repair and there’s no way to know if you’re being charged a fair price for labor or you’re getting ripped off. there are no published rates for repairs. You can’t talk to any individual ahead of time to get any information. Everything is done through computers even the phone conversations are computer generated. You’re better off contacting a local appliance repair service and talk to the repair tech. Stay away from Sears appliance repair services. Followup: Spent 1/2 hour trying to contact someone on the website and 800 number. You cant talk to anyone and there were no options to resolve my issue. If Sears was serious about assisting me they can check the service order number (230176630) and get back to me.
