I scheduled appointment for a window of 1PM to 5PM. At 4:38PM I requested an update on the arrival time. I received a text message stating "Sorry, we won't be able to complete your service to day as initially planned." I would not recommend this company based on their lack of reliability.

I scheduled a next day appliance repair appointment online, which was super easy. I was given a time frame of 8 am - 12 pm today. The technician never showed, and I didn't receive a phone call, text, or email notification. I attempted to call customer service after 12 pm, but there were no humans, just automations telling me my appointment is still scheduled. Around 10 am, a Sears rep called asking if the tech arrived, and they tried to sell me a warranty. Absolutely not. The service fee would have been $129, so that was a save. I'll try a local business with an actual person who answers the phone.

I think Sears is going down hill , when I was little , I was brought up to but Sears tools and appliances , fast forward , I bought my first house , went to Sears , bought refrigerator , dish washer , stove and washer and dryer , plus I bought the maintenance agreement for all of my appliances . I would renew my agreement when it expired , they would call me five or six times a day , before I answered the phone . Me thinking I still was under the agreement , I called to get my ice maker fixed , I called , talked to machine and it said can not find me , I wanted to talk to a human , I talked to a guy in the Philippines , he said my agreement has expired .. and have to go with insurance for 60.00 a month , and pay 100.00 at appointment , then i waited two months for a technician to come because of the insurance did not kick in for 30 days , but the guy in the Philippines said it kicked in that day , thank you technician guy for telling me that before he got to my house , or the bill would have been over 400.00 dollars , so the new technician comes to my house , puts in a new ine maker , and charges 250.00 dollars , WHAT , WHY AM I PAYING 60.00 A MONTH , UNBELIEVABLE I would love to talk to the people in Hoffman Estates , and ask them WHY , as of people who grew up with Sears and now as a adult using Sears and passing it to my kids to use Sears products are you changing a Great thing , to told my technician that , he said i would love to pass it along but I don't talk to a human , WHAT THE HELL IS THIS . I am a UNHAPPY Sears appliance owner and I WANT my Maintenance Agreement BACK . The technicians that you have in my area are great , the older ones have been to my house since I bought my appliances , they go a great job and go way above the job the do . Again I hope Hoffman Estates people read this and the people who want to but Sears appliance , I would really think hard about it , and that hurts him to say that , after all people I told to buy Sears just for the Maintenance Agreement . Warning!⚠️ Do NOT use this company!! We waited all day for a Salvatore and they never showed up!!! Scheduled 1-5pm time slot , Kept changing our time till about 8pm when we lost contact altogether with the view of the technician and when he was coming. This is horrible! You can’t talk to a live person they are AI only!! Their address is a storage company when you look it up. Will be reporting them to the Better business Bureau! Terrible!!!!!!

Before the appointment, Sears asked me about details of the problem, but it never gave the information that I had provided to the technician. In my description I had said that the unit does not respond to the thermostat. And the technician discovered that the thermostat is bad, needs to be replaced, but I need to call someone else to do that.

Follow up to visit in Aug 2025 when tech insisted oven was fine. By Nov 2025, oven flame would go out/relight/go out and then just escaping gas. Original time set Dec 1 from 1-5. Using tracker, tech was due 1:54-3. Suddenly, expected arrival became 3:27; he finally arrived at 4:57 p.m., did his diagnostics, said he needed to order the part and scheduled REAL REPAIR for Dec 8 between 8-noon. On Dec 7 got email changing repair to Dec 8 between 1-5 because part would not arrive. However, part had been delivered to my location on Dec 5 p.m. Tech called at 3:07 p.m. said he was on the way and would arrive in 15-20 minutes. Arrived 3:35, parked in my driveway for 5-10 minutes. Actual repair/replacement took 15-20 minutes. When I inquired tech verified his next stop was home. Have had this same repair/replacement twice in the past (2019 & 2023), In both cases tech had part in his van, got it, installed it and things were done within 4 hour window, with actual repair taking less than an hour. I was surprised at the need to schedule a follow-up for repair that required my changing a personal appointment, then a change in the window for that repair so I had cancel the rescheduled appointment. Repair in 2019 was $277; in 2023 cost was $329, In 2025 cost was $543! Price is up; quality and service are down.

No showed for a scheduled appointment. Called and they said that "no one was ever assigned to the job". This was a lie because they assigned a technician with a name and picture. Also, as the day progressed, the estimated arrival time changed over and over again. It was then rescheduled for two days later. Same thing happened again, no showed for the job and once again I had to reach out to find out what was going on. My home warranty then tells me that they have to find a new vendor because this one does not want to find street parking where I live. Sears then even sends me a copy of the receipt, and they still billed my home warranty for the service even though they no showed twice and signed the receipt themselves with "not available". This is also not the first time that a Sears service technician has done this to me.

Scam: I wish that I could give zero stars, but there is no option to. The technician came after an initial no-show visit the week prior for a stove at a rental that we own. The technician, Salvatore, call me when he arrived and gave me a hard time about the door having been taken off so that he could see it better. He then called me back less than 15 minutes after we had hung up from the first call and told me that mice had chewed through the electrical harness in the back of the stove and that's why it was not heating up. He said the part I needed could not be ordered. He charged the full diagnostic fee and said I would need a new stove and possibly exterminator to treat a rodent infestation. This would have been prohibitively expensive. After paying the $150 diagnostic fee (including tax), my renters reached out concerned that the technician had not been honest about his assessment. They said the tech had not assessed the harness because he had not been able to see it easily, and that what he had described to me as a confirmed, definitive diagnosis was speculative and the result of lazy work. My renters were nice enough to look at the harness themselves that evening and sent a video explaining that an easily accessible wire was loose, and once reconnected more tightly, the oven worked. They saw no indication of mice, like poop or holes in the drywall. When I reached out to Sears, the AI system refused to connect me to customer service reps to escalate any form of grievance and directed that I reach out to online chat. The two reps that I chatted with online refused to give specifics as to when and how I would be contacted to discuss an escalation of this complaint. This system is overall scam-adjacent. I wish I had never gone with Sears. They do not seem committed to hiring quality technicians or remediating issues of fraud or quality. Colin
