I don't post a lot of reviews here, but I feel people should know how this organization operates before setting up a $140 appointment. I would *not* use this business (or any Sear's appliance repair shop) again, under any circumstance. Sears Applicance repair is as much of a scam as something possibly can be while still doing actual repair work. Can they diagnose and fix a repairable appliance? Yes. What price will you pay whether they can or cannot? Unbelievably high, for the time and effort involved. Here's how it works. They charge you a $140 "diagnostic fee" to look at each appliance. I needed the dishwasher fixed, but I couldn't even get a quote for an issue with my refrigerator (that isn't a huge deal), without a second "diagnostic fee". Okay, I can maybe understand some fee for them to send someone out, though $140 is about double what I would expect (generally it's about an hour of labor charged for plumbers, electricians, etc.), and once you're here, why additional fees for each item? Then they will give you an estimate for repair. If it's something simple (like in my case, just needed a cleaning of the spray arms on a dishwasher), they will say they couldn't find a problem with a definite fix for sure, so they charge you the $140. They did give me a quote to replace the spray arms. As I now know, you can simply twist these off to disconnect (watched the repair person do it, but probably YouTube videos as well) - literally anyone can do this, and just fit and twist on to replace (I cleaned these personally after the technician left). Here's what replacing the spray arms costs on Amazon: Lower ~$30 Upper ~$25 My labor to install: 1-2 mins each to carry inside, unbox, and install Here's what they quoted me to replace the spray arms: Lower Arm $71 (I expect some upcharge, a bit high though) Upper Arm $71 (I expect some upcharge, a bit high though) Labor $322 (What!?! For 5 minutes work, tops?) Total $472 I asked about him actually cleaning the existing arms (which I easily did after he left) and got some handwaving about there is probably build-up inside already from it being 10 years old so he didn't think it would help. I obviously didn't accept the repair of replacing the arms (even though I didn't realize just how ridiculous it was at the time), which would have been half the cost of a new dishwasher. But I guess at least if you accept the repair they waive the $140 diagnostic fee... Still, the quotes they offer border on criminal with ridiculously high prices that have no bearing on reality of a reasonable hourly rate and the time involved. This company is designed, in my opinion, to take advantage of people relying on once-trustworthy Sears name, in a space where there are not a lot of businesses setup specifically for appliance repair. I got the sleezy vibe from the phone sales person who setup the appointment, and should have killed the appointment right then, but I there aren't a lot of options for appliance repair these days. The tech himself was actually very nice, and was helpful about the odds of different things being a problem, etc. Other places I talked to were booked out or not accepting repairs from appliances they didn't sell. I don't know the best solution to this. I think a good handyman at $50 or so an hour is probably gold these days.

The call center said they were sending a tech to fix my stove and fridge. Well the tech said he don't have a work order for the fridge so he didn't fix that. Mind you, this was the main issue. #2 he said the stove was fixed and it's not. Absolutely ridiculous. About to sell my stuff and buy it somewhere else so I don't ever have to deal with this company again. No wonder Sears can't keep any stores open.
