The service person was great your information system sucks. It told me he was going to be here between 7:35 am to 8am then he was assigned to 2 calls before it 15 miles away. He was shock we were told that he would be here that early and the time never changed in your app

o L,

Customer service response - We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the scheduling issue, o leonard. We're glad to hear the service person was great, and we appreciate your feedback to improve our information system.

Needed service for an "F" error code. Excellent job, Stephen saw exactly what repair was needed as he was investigating. Very personable and helpful to me with info on the washer itself as cleaning options for the machine.

Patricia M,

Customer service response - Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Stephen; we're thrilled he could resolve the "F" error and provide helpful advice on maintaining your washer. We appreciate your feedback!

I concluded that there was no easy way to express my concern to a live person with Sears Home Services, so I will do it here in the hope that they will see it and maybe even contact me. I placed a service order about a week ago and overall it wasn't necessarily a bad experience, although the tech's arrival was quite late in the day. The tech was friendly and seemingly knowledgeable but the quote he gave for a repair seemed very excessive. I declined the repair and paid for the visit. This past Saturday while going through my emails, I found one from Sears Home Services that showed a breakdown of the repair estimate and I discovered two interesting things that obviously contributed to the high estimate for the repair. First, they wanted $300.00 for the part that I needed for the repair. I ended up doing the repair myself and I purchased the part for roughly $200.00 and I purchased the part from Sears Parts Direct which, according to Google, is directly affiliated with Sears Home Services. I find it interesting that the part the tech would provide would cost a $100.00 more than the one I could purchase seemingly from the same company. But what do I know about such things? The second issue is what really drove up the cost of the repair estimate. The estimate showed that I needed two timers for the repair. I've become quite familiar with my wash machine since doing this repair and I can guarantee you this machine does not use two timers. There is no justifiable reason for this repair listing two timers. I am not suggesting that the listing of two timers was intentional, but I am suggesting that this probable innocent mistake cost THEM a repair job. I'm not sure if I would have agreed to the repair without this extra $300.00 tacked on, but there was no way I was interested in spending over $900.00 on a very old, but good machine. If I had agreed to the repair and wasn’t made aware of the part cost markup until after the repair, I might have been a little upset, but I would have just been glad the machine was working again. And now, right before I submit this review, I can say that the machine is still not fixed. We got a few loads done with it and now it has a new problem. It’s a long story, but I probably have to buy yet another timer and hope that resolves the issue. If not, then something else needs to be replaced. And if Sears Home Services sees this review and would have preferred me to contact them instead of posting this, all I can say is maybe not have ALL methods of contact involve a virtual agent or scheduling of a repair. How about a quick and easy way to talk to a live person or leave a message, be it verbal or written? The more I think about the listing of two timers, I do have to wonder why a presumably experienced tech wouldn’t catch on to the idea that a $965.08 estimate for what I now know to be a rather simple repair was excessive ESPECIALLY since he was questioned about it as I had done? I also have to wonder if such a mistake would ever be discovered further into the process involving consumers who don’t think twice about parting with their money or who have no clue about what a timer is or how many are needed for a repair? Would Sears have ever caught it? Would a bill processing person have any clue? How often does this happen? I’m not offering any advice for anyone else regarding the use of Sears Home Services, but I will think long and hard about my use of them especially if they see this and don’t contact me. Oh, and I bet they have a live person for responding to reviews.

Rodney,

Customer service response - We apologize for the issues you experienced with the repair estimate and communication, Rodney. Thank you for your detailed feedback, and we recommend contacting us directly to discuss this further.

Slight delay arriving, tech was nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Problem is they don't have any parts so they usually order from Amazon. At least 4 days to get it so I don't have a working refrigerator until then. Ordered the part myself and having it shipped overnight. $32 + $12 shipping vs $174. Paid $136 just for the visit and diagnosis. Tech agreed that the part I suspected should be replaced so that was worth it. If you have many appliances it's best to get a home warranty. Saves money but still would take 4 days to get parts.

David D,

Customer service response - We apologize for the delay and parts availability issue, David. Thank you for your feedback, and we're glad the tech was helpful and knowledgeable.
