Tim was very courteous and did his job well. The pricing is not set by him, but was more than the cost of a new washer to replace a broken top lid. I found the lid on the internet for $260 + $85 for shipping vs $512 from Sears. Labor was $320 for 20 minutes of work. In the future, I will do my homework and not use Sears for repair work!! Followup: Sears Appliance Repair replied to this review asking me to call their 800 number to discuss. Their reply was AI generated and did not allow any interaction with a real person. The call was terminated every time I tried to reach someone. So much for trying to help resolve the overpayment. My original review remains the same.

They ordered the part for my fridge and set up the appointment to install the part. The day of the appointment I got an email that it was cancelled because the part wasn’t delivered. The part had arrived multiple days ago. I called to let them know and we rescheduled. Leading up to my new appointment I got another email stating the same thing. I called again and they refused to let me talk to a manager and assured me it wouldn’t happen again and then confirmed my appointment. Today for my confirmed appointment they never showed up and never notified me. I’ve been trying to talk to someone and the automated system will not put me through to an agent. Instead it’s making me reschedule my appointment that they missed via online. This is the worst customer service experience and a waste of my time waiting around during 4 hour windows for no one to show up. I still yet to have my fridge repaired and already paid for it.

Timothy the technician was great. That's the only positive thing I can say about this experience. Scheduling was difficult as was communication. Customer service call center is overseas making things even more inconvenient. First service visit was to determine which parts were needed. Parts were shipped and received and 2nd visit was scheduled. 2nd visit was a no-show, no-call but instead of offering an apology and a reschedule, Sears sent an email telling me that I missed my appointment and needed to reschedule myself. 2nd attempt at repair: Tim shows up and begins the process only to tell me that a particular part, which needed to be removed to complete the repair, is particularly difficult to remove without breaking it. He then informed me that it is Sears policy to CHARGE THE CUSTOMER for the part if HE breaks it during the repair. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me that wasn't an option. In the end, he was able to complete the repair without breaking the part, but I'm still stunned by this policy. I will not be using Sears for any other repairs going forward.

Tech replaced the part, 5 weeks later not working, next tech said we needed another part no longer made. So after $800 nothing has changed and Sears wont respond to my request for at least a partial refund

Still waiting for repair. Long story short…. Started this repair project Oct 1st and as of today, Nov 11th I am home AGAIN waiting for repair person. Talked to customer service ( in another country) 5 times over this period. I will update review as soon as someone actually comes today and repair washer( part has been here for a week) I would never use them again. But as of right now I need it repaired by them since I paid $420 in Oct.

I had to wait 1 week for my first appointment to be scheduled. Took day off of work. They canceled hours before the scheduled time. And it happened again! They rescheduled for following week, confirmed several times (text messages, email) and now they just canceled again. No oven for weeks now. Horrible and frustrating!

Had an appointment between 1 & 5 pm today. The tech called at 4:45 to say he would not make it. Said I had to call to reschedule. After 4 calls they wanted to reschedule me for 5 days later instead of first thing the next morning. Will never call Sears Appliance Repair again.

To clarify - our technician Timothy was good and fixed the issue. However, my experience with Sears home services as a whole was terrible. We were forced to use Sears by our extended warranty company for our GE range. Originally we called because of an issue with the sparker and after two visits from our original technician and a few replaced wiring harnesses, that issue was fixed. However in the process of fixing the sparker, the technician caused a gas leak from the range. I mentioned that I smelled gas before he left but He assured me there wasn’t an issue and left. After an hour of still smelling gas (mind you I was home with my 2 month old infant), I called 911 and the fire department confirmed that there was a gas leak from the range and it was at risk of explosion due to the concentration of gas. After turning off the gas to the appliance, we called Sears and had a new technician (Timothy) come to find the source of the leak. He found it and ordered the parts that were damaged during the original repair. We scheduled a new service appointment for him to come replace the malfunctioning parts and received multiple confirmation texts/emails for the appointment. On the day of the appointment there was no communication about when they were scheduled to come. In the confirmation it only listed between 8am-5pm and after waiting all day, no technician ever arrived. I called the customer service number upwards of 15 times and the automated answering service was TERRIBLE. No matter what combination of options I entered, it would not let me cancel or reschedule the appointment (even though it was in the past and not completed) and more importantly, it was not possible to get an actual person on the phone to help me. I ended up having to contact the technician directly to help me get in contact with someone to help. He sent a message to have someone contact me to reschedule. No one actually called me - I received a text from an automated scheduler that thankfully worked to schedule the new service appointment but after the absolutely terrible customer service experience, I would have much preferred an actual person to ensure things were scheduled correctly. Nearly caused an explosion in my home, terrible customer service, would never buy a warranty or maintenance service from this company.
