The technician was great. But, the scheduling sucks. He was a few hours later than the original estimate.

John was very friendly. Have been a Master Protection Agreement customer for 40+ years. Now suddenly there’s some ‘magical person’ who finishes your dryer service - clearing the lint from machine & vent - but only in certain zipcodes. Was told supervisor would call - STILL WAITING!!

Technician canceled our appointment on Monday without reason. Scheduled our appointment on Friday without asking. Stopped by before he was supposed to. My wife asked that she speak to him before he left our residence to understand estimate and what he found. He just left.

Your "service tech" did basically nothing. He actually did less than I did when I tried troubleshooting the problem. He was here for all of 15-20 minutes. Claimed he couldn't recreate the problem(not draining during spin cycle. Water standing in washer). Well...it's funny...because I managed to recreate the damn problem as soon as I did a test load of laundry. Not only that, but I have very little faith in a sears technician that has to Google an error code then ask Google how to fix it. I paid for a bunch of bullshit. I won't use you again. This was total crap service.

I thought I was dealing with a reputable company in the beginning. When I made my appointment I told the company that it was a whirlpool washer less than 2 years old. When the guy showed up he looked at the machine and said that whirlpool had a recall on the computer board. Gave me a quote for $800. To fix a $500. Washer that turns out is covered in the recall. Then charges me $139. Service call. Seems the people taking appointments should have more knowledge of recalls.

Update: I sent them a check and they still referred me to collections. You are definitely getting scammed. Do not under any circumstances use this company, even for a diagnostic. Never use these guys, you’re probably getting scammed. I called these guys to look at my oven after a wind storm caused a power surge and one of the components exploded. Their tech came out late, spoke broken English, wouldn’t answer my wife’s questions, didn’t pull the oven out enough to really examine it, then recommended an expensive fan replacement when the problem was something else. I declined the service, but since they charge a diagnostic fee, I gave him my payment info which he entered into the sketchiest, most vibe-coded looking app I’ve seen in 15 years. He gave me no receipt and they later sent me a bill, so I’m halfway convinced he, and maybe he’s not the only one, is running a credit card info harvesting operation. Corporate has been no help, either. They just want their money.

I did not sign any documents or authorize any work beyond the evaluation. Apparently, Elbert took it upon himself to forge my signature on the service ticket. During the visit, the technician was dismissive and rude when I asked reasonable questions about my HVAC concerns. Rather than listening to the issues I was experiencing, he told me to “read the manual” and “Google how heat pumps work.” His behavior made it clear that he was more interested in demonstrating his own knowledge and emphasizing what he believed was my lack of understanding, instead of addressing my concerns. When I attempted to explain the problems I was having with the HVAC system, he repeatedly spoke over me. At one point, I explicitly asked him to stop treating me as if I were stupid. He denied doing so, then went outside claiming he would “check the issue.” Shortly afterward, I received a phone call from the technician stating that he found nothing wrong and that I would need to contact the home warranty company to have the service reassigned. No meaningful explanation was provided, and my original concerns were never properly addressed. This experience was unprofessional and left me without any resolution to the issues that prompted the service call in the first place. I expect respectful communication and a genuine effort to diagnose reported problems. I called the home warranty company and they have reassigned to a different vendor.

My experience with Sears Home Services (through my home warranty) was extremely disappointing and one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. The appointment windows are absurdly wide (8 AM to 3 PM), which means you lose an entire day waiting. From the start, the service felt disorganized and unprofessional. The technician initially spent about 5 minutes looking at the dishwasher and immediately ordered a control panel replacement without properly diagnosing the real issue. On the next visit, he refused to work on the unit because there was water and debris inside—despite the fact that the dishwasher’s actual problem was that it would not drain. I had to personally buy a shop vac and clean it out just so the technician would continue the work. On another visit, the technician showed up, and after a delay of only about 5 minutes in answering the door, he became extremely unprofessional, muttered that he “can’t deal with this,” and walked off my porch and left. Completely unacceptable behavior. After multiple wasted visits, delays, and conflicting diagnoses, he later changed course and ordered a drain pump instead of the previously ordered control panel. It ultimately took five separate visits over nearly a month just to get a basic dishwasher drainage issue resolved. Communication with Sears is almost nonexistent, as they are now AI(fancy word for a chat bot) only that provides no meaningful support or ability to escalate issues or request a different technician. Overall, this was a drawn-out, inefficient, and frustrating experience marked by poor diagnosis, multiple unnecessary visits, unprofessional behavior, and lack of customer support. I would not recommend Sears Home Services based on this experience.
