My experience with Sears Home Services (through my home warranty) was extremely disappointing and one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. The appointment windows are absurdly wide (8 AM to 3 PM), which means you lose an entire day waiting. From the start, the service felt disorganized and unprofessional. The technician initially spent about 5 minutes looking at the dishwasher and immediately ordered a control panel replacement without properly diagnosing the real issue. On the next visit, he refused to work on the unit because there was water and debris inside—despite the fact that the dishwasher’s actual problem was that it would not drain. I had to personally buy a shop vac and clean it out just so the technician would continue the work. On another visit, the technician showed up, and after a delay of only about 5 minutes in answering the door, he became extremely unprofessional, muttered that he “can’t deal with this,” and walked off my porch and left. Completely unacceptable behavior. After multiple wasted visits, delays, and conflicting diagnoses, he later changed course and ordered a drain pump instead of the previously ordered control panel. It ultimately took five separate visits over nearly a month just to get a basic dishwasher drainage issue resolved. Communication with Sears is almost nonexistent, as they are now AI(fancy word for a chat bot) only that provides no meaningful support or ability to escalate issues or request a different technician. Overall, this was a drawn-out, inefficient, and frustrating experience marked by poor diagnosis, multiple unnecessary visits, unprofessional behavior, and lack of customer support. I would not recommend Sears Home Services based on this experience.

Worst customer service. Redirected on the phone Many times and they rescheduled my appt 5 times within a span of 3 weeks. Original appt was a Wednesday 8a-5p. At 507p was contacted by an ai to reschedule my appt for the following day. Again 8a-5p on Thursday. Another entire missed day of work. They contacted me at 3p to tell me they over booked the technician that my appt is now moved to Fri 8a-5p. So now Friday they called me at 445p to tell me he wouldn't get to me until 710p and that it would be best to move it to the next available appt which is the next Wednesday. But that they woukd call me first thing to tell me if i was the 2nd or the 9th appt of the day. So Wednesday comes around and I dont get a call first thing to see my appt window so I called. They told me they didnt have a narrowed time frame but they woukd call when they are on the way. At 230p I get an ai call saying there isnt an available technician that my appt got rescheduled to the following monday. And no one was willing to give me a free month of service or anything. RUDE.

They showed up. My technician did nothing concerning my leaking dishwasher. I told him I think it's a seal, but not sure. He then gets on ChatGPT to look up a replacement seal. He said it would be $300 in labor to replace and like $150 for the part. Apparently Sears charges $600/hr for labor. John was more focused on selling me an appliance maintenance plan for $60 per month than diagnosing my dishwasher leak. He didn't run a cycle, look underneath or anything. Very disappointed with this. Sears wouldn't even refund my "diagnostic fee". UPDATE 03-02-26: I finally got around to calling Sears back (the number given is one I called before) and entered the voice prompt menu from hell. My issue isn't an "option" that can be addressed. I tried getting a live representative and instead was welcomed by Samantha (their AI representative). I asked to speak to a live representative and was informed that there are no live agents, only her. Every number I have for Sears all leads me to the same voice prompt menu. Hey Sears, why don't you CALL ME since you have all my information already and give me a number to call and speak to a HUMAN? I would think you would like to make this right....

It's impossible to talk to an actual representative for this company even when directed. This company will over promise / under deliver and never show up. Find any other company but this one.

This company is pathetic. If you have an issue it will tell you to call them if you have a problem. When you call their AI response will advise you that you can not talk to a real person to work through a problem. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY as they will waste your time only to not show up and you can not talk to a human to resolve issues. ************HORRIBLE COMPANY*******

Very bad company. I have waited 3 days to only to have this company cancel and not able to speak to somebody about it. Do not purchase the warranty and if you're under a manufacturer's warranty request for a different company because this company does not care about its customers.

Firstly, this review does not refer to the two technicians assigned to Order Number 000476613216538 who were polite and helpful. Between Dec 25, 2025 and Jan 21, 2026 I was given 6 appointments (3 no shows by repair service agents with no explanations) and waited at home from 8am until 5pm each day. A technician eventually attended and diagnosed a problem (lower element) and a part was ordered ($178.88 + tax). A different technician came to fit (40 minutes labor time) and also diagnosed a separate problem (temperature sensor) and that part was ordered ($131.75 + tax). The second technician returned and fitted the sensor (75 minutes labor time). The combined order wait time for parts was more than a week. During the above dates I received 79 emails from Sears H.S. with confirmations/cancellations of appointments/and requests to reschedule. All required me to "identify" myself by entering codes sent by email from (all codes registered as incorrect)! AT NO TIME WAS I ABLE TO PHONE AND SPEAK WITH A SEARS H.S. REPRESENTATIVE! Sears made charges for the above parts of more than twice the listed manufacturer's list prices. The labor charge to diagnose and fit the above parts amounted to $379.95 for a time spent at my home of less than two hours. The combined cost for parts and labor of $713.10 is absolutely unreasonable. Please respond to this review before we take the matter further. Signed, Marion Spaul
