We had an ongoing issue with our Maytag refrigerator and ice maker. Another appliance repairman had replaced the icemaker 3 times in a matter of months, it would work for a couple of weeks then stop. Still under warranty. I called them, they scheduled a next morning appointment then called and advised they could not see me until Monday sometime and this was Thursday. My wife contacted sears via the internet, and we were scheduled for the next day. The repairman, Tim, arrived after 2 pm. He was very nice and we found he had been doing this for 40 years. He determined our issue was a burnt up icemaker motor from low water pressure not filling the tray and it constantly cycling, I had recorded the noise it was making before it stopped and he went right to the problem. He pulled an inside panel at the back of the freezer and clean out the coils which ice deposits from the failed ice maker. After assembling the freezer and icemaker, he pulled the back of the unit and cleaned the lines there and found it plugged. He cleared and cleaned this and put everything back. Our bill for all this was under $200.00. The repairman, Tim, is top notch, a reminder of the Golden Era of Sears Repairmen, deeply knowledgeable about the repairs and process as well as quality and friendly customer service. He arrived, not in the old green van or wearing the old military style cap my grandfather wore in his day, but with all the professionalism and knowledge that was passed on by true repairmen, not parts changers. And this morning a full ice container of full size ice in the freezer! Thank you Tim!

Our side by side started to lose ability to cool. Sears Appliance Repair dispatched Tim to our residence. Lucky for us. Tim was totally professional and customer focused. He is the person you want if you need service and is the person you want if you own a business and want happy customers. He quickly diagnosed our issue took care of our issue. The technician was friendly and knowledgeable and on time. The automated service that prepared for the appointment was very disappointing! The timing was off and the information was totally incorrect. The automated.messages to confirm the appointment had the day wrong. The time wrong and the service call reason wrong and incorrectly told me there would be a charge when he arrived even though my warranty covered.it! I would have definitely canceled the entire appointment if Tim had not called me.And let me know he was coming and clearing up the confusion. Tim was great. Efficient and knowledgeable. But the AI service sucks.
