We called sears to fix the door on the stove The phone call confirming that technician Is on the way was two hours before he came. The work was done quickly and professional. the issue was with price. When we called sears we were told that service call is $125 that would go toward the price of service. the technical told that his work cost $51 and charged us $$176 + tax. We asked why he added $51 if it should be part of $125. I believe there is miss leading by customer service or overcharge by technician.

The repairman was punctual and very good. My issue is with the Sears service company itself. I have had issues with my fridge leaking because of little holes or cracks in the tube that feeds the water dispenser and Ice maker. I told them the issue and they know the model. When the repairman came he said he would have to order the replacement tubing??? Why wouldn’t they have equipped him properly before coming out… it was a 3 week wait for the appointment as is! Luckily I happened to have some tubing on hand from previous leaks that we fixed ourselves and there was enough of it firm him to complete the job. If I hadn’t this job would not have been completed today. Ridiculous. Plus the charge was 400, even though when I was called I was told $162. Very unhappy about that. I would have been ok with the $162, but $400 is way out of line.

It took him ten minutes to do A/C maintenance check for the upcoming season. He did not clean the outtake filter until I asked him to. He said he was allergic to cats. My former company check the compressor inside and hoses which this guy did not. I would not use Sears again. He also quoted me the no discounted price saying it might be past the date? It’s only April. He did check and gave me the discounted price.

The online scheduler asked for my dryers make and model “in order to have appropriate parts”. My dryer is an older Maytag that basically only needs a pulley, a belt, a roller or a heating element. My heating element was fine, but the technician said the other three parts needed to be replaced. He didn’t have any of the three parts with him. Each of the parts I needed cost about $40 each. His estimate to replace them was higher than buying a brand new dryer. I understand that they need to up charge a little for parts and add labor but the estimate was ridiculous. That being said I need a working dryer fast. I wanted to take a day or two to decide if I should have them install a new dryer or install the new parts. The technician said if I didn’t sign an agreement for repair on the spot, I would have to pay another fee when they come back to install the new parts. I paid the diagnostic fee and told them I would prefer to work with a company that doesn’t try to take advantage of people. I give two stars because the appointment was easy to schedule and the technician was on time. I will never call Sears again. I should have called my local appliance shop to begin with.

Service tech was on time, friendly and did the required work His specialty is refrigeration- and the maintenance work was for a washer and dryer- next time they should send a tech that works regularly on washer/dryers . The work done would have more thorough Tech did not repair machine as requested, had notified in advance that start button touch display required replacement. Yes tech did PM but did not repair as requested. Now must schedule 2 no appointment to have repair done which should have been done on the first visit.

This is not a review of the technician and his work, because while the technician was prompt and delivered excellent repair service, THE COST FOR THIS WAS ASTRONOMICAL. We had our front load washer's rubber gasket replaced and had to purchase the parts ($100) separately and then had to pay an extra $180 on top of that for the labor which took about 1 hour possibly 75 minutes. You could do this on your own but it requires taking the top of the washer off and then trying to secure the new gasket to the front with small wire. It seems like a kind of difficult thing to do, which is probably why it took the technician an hour to do it. But it definitely should not have cost $180 for an hour worth of work. We had to get it done and seems like they have you by the neck here, but that shouldn't be a reason to charge a ridiculous amount of money for the service.
