A plastic piece on the top of the freezer door on our side by side was broken causing the door not to close on its own. We chose not to repair because the technician, Jacob, said the freezer door would have to be replaced and it would cost $1600+ and we decided that it was too expensive. We will have to purchase a new refrigerator in the near future. In the meantime we will be sure to carefully push the door shut!

Fan motor from my central air conditioner bearings are going out making lots of loud squealing noise. However I was told Home Choice Warranty does not allow him to replace it until it completely stops.

Labor charge $350 for 20 minutes of service!! That’s quite pricey! The first repair guy that was here spent five minutes, diagnosing the problem of my washing machine and then sat for 30 minutes just talking about his personal business which I thought was very unprofessional. The second service guy that came was wonderful came in and installed the part. Took him about 15 minutes. I don’t know that I’ll use Sears again because I feel that they robbed me on that labor. Usually businesses charge by the hour for labor so I don’t know how they came up with $350 for 20 minutes of service. I feel like I should be getting a little bit of a refund on that labor charge!! Service is not very fast. It took them two weeks to repair my washing machine when the part was at my house three days after they ordered it..

The technician said that there was nothing he could do because the motor is bad and no longer available. I was not happy to pay $140 to be told that he will do nothing.

The app that has you track the service time does not work. It says they will be there at 8:40 then they don’t show up until 3:00. Some kinda time frame would be nice not the 8-5 that’s a ridiculous time frame.

Both of the techs that showed up were excellent ~ Thank you Mario & Joshua. ********** However, Sears Home Service scheduling system and contact system are deplorable. A window between 8AM & 5PM. And then a closer window shows up (7:45 AM to 8:30 AM) and then changes back to 8AM to 5PM, then changes to 3:15PM to 4:45PM, then at 5PM changes back to 8AM to 5PM...and then the appointment disappears? And there was no contact...no texts/calls/emails explaining what was going on. No information on if I should reschedule, how I should reschedule. The AI bots were useless, and provided no way to connect to a human. I had 3 days that I could not work...3 days of lost income and I do not get paid time off or sick days...because of this scheduling system. You will not ever find me recommending Sears Home Services expressly because of your scheduling system.

Technician did great, however there were several other issues. First, when the original tech came out and diagnosed the issue - I paid the estimated cost for the repair, hr ordered thr parts to be delivered to my home, and put me on the schedule for repair for 7/9 anytime from 8a-5p. On 7/9, I received a call from them verifying the parts had arrived and wanted to schedule a day to come out. I notified them that today was already the day that was schedule and I had to use a PTO day at work, so they would need to come out today, as originally planned. A few hours later, a tech showed up. He fixed the issues, realized the original tech had order 4 sets of what I needed instead of 1 set of 4, so took the remaining parts, sent me a receipt for the difference and let me know id be getting the amount refunded for the extra parts, which was about $162. Today I called customer service just to inquire about the refund and see how long it takes to return to my card, and the customer service person I spoke to said nothing was noted on my account to be refunded, so she started the refund process for me 10 days later. Just seems like not so great communication, but atleast my dryer is fixed I guess.
