My technician was awesome. My experience with home services warranty personnel was horrible. The gal that sold me the agreement knew I had pending appointments and said that it would apply. I called the services number while the technician was here and they said that I was entitled to 50% off The technician called his boss and he couldn't honor it because it had beset up wrong. I got stung for the whole repair saying that the contract doesn't apply for 30 days. I would have canceled my appointment and waited. I have spoken to 5 people at the home services warranty department and only 2 were helpful. If I don't get my 50% back, I will be canceling my contract. Still waiting for a reply.

I scheduled an appointment eight days out and was given a 9-hour window for when the technician would arrive, so I took the day off work (it was a Friday). I waited all day, and half an hour before the latest time he was supposed to be here I was sent a text message that my appointment was rescheduled for the following Monday, again with a 9-hour window. Just crazy. I have a job I need, on top of which, they sent me texts all week letting me know that if I needed to cancel my appointment I needed to do it 24-hours in advance or I’d be charged for the service call. I guess their time is precious, while mine means nothing. Apparently they’re so busy that they overbook, and that leads them to believe they can treat the customer any way they want. And while that means they’re so big that my repair business is meaningless to their success, they’re not the only gig in town, and I will be happy to give my money to someone to whom it matters. EDIT: After looking at broader reviews as opposed to the reviews for a specific location, it looks like no-shows and reschedules are fairly common, as are the communication issues mentioned by some reviewers, due to the call center set-up. It also appears that ‘Sears’ is in name only, and that to expect the service, dependability, or trustworthiness that is associated with that name is a mistake. RESPONSE (since I can’t directly reply to your response): The phone number you gave as a way for my experience to be improved is the call center number and will do nothing but restart the same process. It won’t fix or remedy anything. It merely gives the impression that you are attempting to make things better for people reading the reviews.

The new repair tech, was rude beyond belief. The main thing he said was I don't mean to be rude but... Then he could not get the microwave door on by himself, and swore in my house. Then the repair was rescheduled for another day. So, after taking a day off from work, for that appointment, I had to take another day off for that appointment. But that's not the end of the story. So after taking another day off, no one showed up, and the appointment was changed again. So, my wife had to handle that appointment. So I don't mean to be rude, but really?

The technician was excellent and above board. I am writing a bad review based on the sears protect service. They sell this service. However, when you call sears home protect, no one answers. If they do answer, there's a 50% chance they will hang up on you. I was on hold for 1hr and 18 minutes before they answered and immediately hung up. There are all sorts of complaints like this on their Facebook page.
