They have been out to fix my dishwasher now 5 times and its still not fixed!

The repairman came to fix my front loading washer. He did a good job but did not give me an estimate until he finished the job. It's only 7.5 years old and probably won't last too much longer. Bad bearings on the Kenmore Elite drum.

The work went well. The repairman called on time, showed up on time, was very nice, competent and efficient. He quickly identified the problem, and replaced our ice maker, which had been leaking badly. The price for the new ice maker was a fair price at $165. The refrigerator, which we also bought from Sears, wasn't that old, and I think the ice maker should have lasted longer, but I can't complain too much about replacing it. The problem was with the labor charge - $220. It took him 17 minutes to replace the icemaker, which came out to about $780 an hour, which is outrageous. I know we need to pay to get him out here, so even if you charge $80, JUST for the service call, that sill means we paid $700/hour to have our ice maker replaced. C'mon Sears, you usually treat your customers better than that. The work would have been 5 stars. The price for labor should have brought it to 2 1/2 stars.

Techician was wonderful and did a great job describing the problem (furnace fan died). BUT, the parts are not in inventory and it is going to take TWO WEEKS to get a new fan made by the manufacturer. We're about to experience our first summer heat wave. I'd think long and hard about buying anything with the Kenmore name in the future. This is no longer my father's Sears. UPDATE: They fixed it!!! Replaced 2 boards, the blower, and the blower controller. Plus a frayed wire. The technician (Mike), was wonderful. He communicated clearly and was professional in every step. If the rest of the Sears employees were like him, the company would not be in the difficulties they find themselves in. I'd still be leery of purchasing a Kenmore product in the future.

We appreciate the timeliness of the repair technician the day of the appointment. However, we felt like he only did the bare minimum with respect to checking our our refrigerator. We believe that he should have asked us more questions about how the refrigerator was functioning and inspecting the WHOLE refrigerator rather than just some of it. Thank goodness this inspection/evaluation was under warranty.

Despite my clear explanation of the problem the tech sent the first time was not a repair person who could actually fix it. Next appt for correct tech was more than a week later. Second tech did good job but didn't have needed part on truck. Again I had explained problem and asked them to make sure they had the part. They did get the part that day, and the tech came back at the end of the day to repair the problem. I would rate the techs highly, they were very professional and competent. It was the scheduling system that failed me. They should listen, and dare I say, not discount what a woman tells them.
