Avoid Sears Home warranty (Cinch home services) at all cost. I discontinued my plan with them after 5 years. Poor customer service the last 2 times I’ve needed their assistance not to mention the run around I got on each of those occasions and the lack of coverage (even partial) on any appliance.

Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience with Sears. After several days of a broken washer and piling up laundry, the technician who I had an appointment with called me and told me he couldn't find parking and would be leaving. I had to beg him to park in a spot nearby and promise to cover his ticket if he got one. To his credit, he did. He inspected the washer and ordered a replacement part, which was to come in a few days, and scheduled a follow-up visit. Once the part got there, the second technician arrived and he informed me that the part the first technician ordered was incorrect and he would have to return the first part and order me another. He promised me I would receive a $212 credit in a few days and he took the box with the part with him to send it back. The second part arrived at my home, and the day of the appointment, I get a call from the technician saying he can't find parking and would be rescheduling my appointment. He stated that it's on me to reserve parking. At this point, I was several weeks without a working washer, so I decided to cancel the appointment and use another service to fix the washer. I thought that my already unpleasant experience would be over, but alas, I never received my refund for the part. I called customer service who apologized and said they had no record of the part being returned but would refund me the difference. Several weeks passed and I still saw no refund, so I decided to contact customer service via email. I heard nothing back. I finally decided to dispute the charge with my credit card and, lo and behold, customer service immediately emailed me back to state that they would refund me once the part was sent back. I emailed them back to explain that I don't have the part, their technician does - but they conveniently have no records of that. Either this is intentional scamming or simply hugely chaotic operations; on top of my terrible experiences with the technicians themselves, I would absolutely never recommend Sears to anyone. Save your money and your sanity, and find someone else.

Repairman came on September 10 to fix icemaker. Still was not working. Another person came on September 12 and said parts had to be ordered. Repairman came yesterday, October 10 and worked on refrigerator. Used one of the parts that had been ordered. Ice maker is STILL NOT WORKING. I am NOT HAPPY with this kind of work and I just want it to be fixed!!

Dishwasher model was unknown to Sears tech. No service was performed. An appointment was scheduled for the next Monday. A charge was billed to me and the scheduled return appointment was ignored. Very poor communication. Not worth dealing with them. ————————————————————————-On a second visit, a second tech was unable to establish the model based on paperwork that was filled out and registered at the time of purchase. The identifying label meant still to be fixed within the machine had evidently been removed. Thus the paperwork proved to be unhelpful and repair forfeited. I know this is not the tech’s fault. He was very polite and apologetic. He is to be commended.

The technician came back multiple times, didn’t have all the answers. He tried to fix the problem but each time he came back there was another issue and wasn’t solved. Today he came to replace yet another part after 2 months and still couldn’t resolve the problem. I still don’t know what to do with my dryer and it isn’t fixed. I don’t have anyone to talk to as all numbers go to an automated system and I don’t have any resolution on if my dryer is being replaced or fixed. I am lost at what I have been paying for for the home warranty and no one can provide me answers.

Ryan was very polite. He came and I told him the ice dispenser was broken and needed to be replaced. Ryan didn't know how to find the part, told me the ice dispenser was broken, and changed me for information that I already knew. $129, to tell me what he already knew. What did I get for my money???

Clearly incompetence is the rule when it comes to appliance repair with Sears, rather than the exception. We are on week 5 without a fridge due to their purposeful dishonesty or ignorance. We called to report and issue and the "soonest available" appt was in 1 week. Fine. The technician who came out was great and very professional. Parts were ordered and repair was scheduled for the next week. The day of the repair came and went without so much as a text to reschedule or cancel. When I called, the customer service rep stated the 4th part was never ordered. He sent it to escalation, and said we'd hear back in 5 business days. We received a text saying the part was backordered and they'll reschedule when it's available. They rescheduled for the next week again, so I thought it was en route to us but we still hadn't received a tracking number for the 4th part (very fishy to me). The day before the repair they AGAIN cancelled and rescheduled! I called that day to ask what was going on and the rep said the part was backordered, and they don't know when they'll get it. Stop scheduling repairs then!!! I finally thought to try to find the part myself online and it is actually backordered on Sears' website but there is no estimated stock date AND a waiting list. I've found multiple appliance stores in the area or online that have the same $5 replacement part, and do not understand why Sears wouldn't just have the repair person find it and pay them for it (as others have based on these reviews). Trying to make a profit off a $5 part is completely insane! If we didn't have a protection plan with them, I would never use their services.

They sent a guy out and he inspected my AC unit and said they'd likely replace it but he wasn't sure. He was cool, no problems. Then he said I'd hear from them but after a week I didn't. All they did was schedule another appointment 2 weeks later. So I contacted my warranty company to find out if there were updates and found out they were indeed going to replace the whole thing. For a nice hefty amount of money. Glad I called... Then the day of the appointment came, but they never showed up. No call no show. Got a text halfway through the appointment window saying thanks for using their service and rate their technician. Well they get a zero because they never showed up or called or anything. I called them and after transferring me to 2 separate people (one of them mentioning the technician's van breaking down) they transferred me to my own warranty company who after making some calls just let it go and scheduled a whole new company to come look at it again. After acting surprised when I said no one showed. Mind you when I first called it was a week wait for the initial appointment. That's 3 weeks without AC and now I'm starting the process over still with no AC. Mind you out of all the people I spoke with, not an ounce of concern for the fact my son and I have been sitting in a hot house this whole time (except this past week was pretty mild, thank goodness, but it's supposed to get hotter again next week). Thanks Sears. It's a shocker all your stores closed and you went bankrupt. Can't imagine how that happened...
