*1-Star Review: 30 Years of Paying for Nothing* I have paid Sears Home Warranty for 30 years. I’ve had my unit serviced every year, sometimes twice a year, and for the last 2 years I have specifically told every technician who came to my home that there was condensation forming on the outside of my indoor condenser unit. Every tech brushed it off and said “condensation sometimes drips like that.” None of them fixed it. None of them reported it. Now the bottom of that same unit has rusted completely through, leaving a hole. Technician said it needed a new drip pan and he is unable to find the part. The rust started at the top where I originally started seeing condensation, from 4-5 feet up in air, inside condenser unit to a quarter way down the side. Sears has now closed my claim, blaming “dog urine” for the rust. My unit is in my BASEMENT. My dogs cannot access it, and last I checked, dogs can’t pee 4-5 feet in the air. When I called, the warranty rep Karina gave me the tech’s name and told me to call him about why he wrote “dog pee” in the notes. I did. The tech sent me his actual notes and confirmed he NEVER wrote that about the indoor unit he inspected today. He said it needs a second opinion and recommended one. I called Sears back to request that second opinion. They told me the case is closed. Done. No appeal. So let me get this straight: I paid you for 30 years. I had techs out constantly. I reported the exact problem that caused this damage for 2 full years. Your techs ignored it. Then you deny my claim based on notes the tech says he didn’t write, blame my dogs for rust on a basement unit 5 feet off the ground, and refuse a second opinion. What exactly have I been paying for? Sears Home Warranty is not warranty coverage. It’s a subscription to being ignored until your equipment fails, then being gaslit about why it’s not covered. Not to mention every time they walk in the door, they collect an $100 fee whether they fix it or not. Avoid this company. You’ll get better service putting your premiums in a jar and paying for repairs yourself.

Came 2x so far. Waited all day because they wouldn't give me a time he was coming. He came at 5:30 PM on day one. About 7:45 PM on day 2. So far he hasn't shown up at all on day 3. He was supposed to be here at 9:35 AM, then it changed to 2:31, which it still says that, and he never came. The HVAC is still broke, but they took my $85.00 deposit for the Home Warranty and sent me a receipt and this stupid review.

Tech never showed. No communication. Customer service said he couldn’t make the time window and confirmed it is common and too bad. Additionally, their up to the minute website and status check on phone confirmed the appointment for a time long past. Ridiculous. Don’t trust them.

I have been paying home sears warranty for almost a year and after 11 months my oven needed a repair(first time ever needed a repair in the one year). got an APPOINTMENT AFTER 2 WEEKS after multiple rescheduling from their end and on the day of service 11 am they said technician not available. I was waiting at home the whole day, taking off work and on the day of appt they say technician NOT available. So no oven for more than 3 weeks inspite of paying monthly home warranty fee. They DELAY SERVICE FOR EXCISITNG CUSTOMERS for weeks because we have already paid. If you are a new customer they send the technician right away. If you are an existing customer you won't be able to see any appointments on website but for new customers same location/same repair they have an appointment immediately. DONOT BUY HOME WARRANTY PLAN, ITS a SCAM .

a horrible experience, I called to repair a GE dryer, the technician came and gave me an estimate of $790 to repair, a new dryer costs $520, it is a rip-off what they want to do, the technician did not even touch the machine and after two minutes he concluded by magic that the machine had multiple problems, customer service told me before making the appointment with the technician that the maximum price to pay would be $270, once again this is a rip-off I hope you never consider this company,

My refrigerator and freezer died. Needed a new compressor. It took 2 weeks to get a service appointment. So the service contract didn't help there. Then they said they had one a week earlier. The morning of the earlier appointment I was given a window of 7 am to 6 pm and an estimate of early to mid-afternoon. No one ever arrived. I was home all day. ALL DAY. I went through the fun process of trying to get my original appointment back. So wait another week. When I was asked to confirm, and did - mentioning I hoped the technician showed up this time - I got a response saying he had showed up at 6:22 pm and included a picture of some bushes by the side of the road to prove it! LOL. Not even sure they were near my house. I guess it was too hard to take a picture of the house, or send me a heads up that you were on your way even though it was past the end point of the appointment window. Or knock on the door? I was home at 6:22. So technician arrived today. Replaced condensor. At end of appt. was on the phone - seemed like a personal call. Loading stuff back up, no problem. But he never got off the phone. Just stopped talking long enough to say he was done and back on call. I figured fine. I had been cleaning the garage. Kept at it a bit. Came back inside and old condensor was (and still is) in a box in the middle of my kitchen. I texted as soon as I could so he could come get it before he got too far away. Haven't got a response yet. It’s been over an hour. I know he’s seen the message. You know how heavy those are? And the fridge isn't where it was - needs to be moved a bit. Not a lot, but again, heavy. I don't know how many more days I'm going to have to waste waiting for someone to pick up the old part and help me move the fridge. So I will be canceling my service contract. No need to give Sears money every month for service that was really sub par. In 2 weeks I could have found someone to do the work. But having the contract, and already invested $1200 into it, I had to go through Sears. How long do you want to have to live without your refrigerator and freezer when something happens? Your washer or dryer? How many days do you want to waste waiting for service? Me… I’m done.

Probably the worst experience i have had in a while with a company/Tech. Working with First American Home Warranty for my HVAC system which has been out for a week. First Steven T was rude. The appointment window stated that he would be here at 11:09. I went to the property he wasn’t there so I called sears to figure out where he was. They said he will give me a call. I got off the phone and a few minutes later Steven gives me a Call. I asked him when he will be here he said 12:09 so i ask why did it say 11:09 I had a doctors appointment he stated it’s either 12:09 or we cancel. So I said ok just come. Around 12:00 he calls I tried answering but he hung up. So I called him back 6 times and no answer. I message him asking him when his ETA was an again no response. I called Sears they stated he was still on his way. I am here waiting for him to arrive and no one. 30 minutes of waiting I get a notification that the work has been completed or cancel. I called sears again to figure out what’s going on they stated that they have reached out to him to have him come back. If this wasn’t going through a warranty company, trust me I wouldn’t even bother with Sears. I don’t understand how a company hires someone as him. I don’t recommend many people lose their job but Steven T does not deserve to be employed by an HVAC company. There are people living in the property end of summer with no AC and he only cares about himself. What a pathetic excuse of an employee.
