All in all—it took 47 days and 4 technicians to complete the repair (fridge not staying cold). The stars are not for AHS/Sears but rather the fourth tech who came out. Submitted a claim and initially requested a local business, but after some delays, I agreed to use Sears as the servicer. The agent assured me the parts for issue described and photos submitted would be ordered in advance for a same-day repair. After a 2.5 week wait, the first tech called the night before to confirm a 12–1p window, but a second tech showed up three hours early—and without any parts. He ordered a compressor board and fan motor from amazon and left. The first tech who called also still showed up at 2p (and without parts) saying he was unaware another tech already came. The third tech arrived after the parts came in and explained that the fridge didn’t actually need a new fan motor, but rather fan blades. Without a functioning fan, the new compressor would overheat and be a tougher repair. That same tech came back a fourth time to install the fan blade and the extra fan motor (since it had already been shipped), but the fan motor didn’t even work straight out of the box. Each part took a week to arrive and a tech was scheduled one week after delivery. Hated it. The last tech was great.

Terrible. Through my home warranty company Sears cancelled 3 times to come and fix my refrigerator. They did not even call me to reschedule. I called each time only for an AI assistant to tell me they were not coming and wanting to reschedule. Horrible service. Update: the phone number posted here for me to call still has no live people’s to talk to. I want to speak with someone. Give me an email and I will email you my number.

Terrible service, awful experience! This was a work order through Choice Home Warranty. The technician, Tariq, blatantly refused to do the work claiming that it was a plumber's job to fix a HVAC drainage issue. Then, when I pressed him, he changed his story stating that he could do the job but didn't have the materials (i.e., needed to replace a leaking PVC pipe on the unit). He then lied to the warranty company by submitting a diagnostic report stating that "no problem was found, unit is functioning properly...and need to contact a plumber." I understand that these warranty companies may give the contractors a run-around as they do customers, but you don't just blatantly lie. You'd be better served by stating that you couldn't fix the issue because you didn't have the materials or simply say that you didn't want to do it - don't say there was no problem when there's clear leak that you can see. I would give this zero stars if that were an option.

Not satisfied. You guys came out with 24 hours got paid to repair my refrigerator. Refrigerator is still not cooling but yall won't return for another week.

The technician that finally completed the repair was great. However Sears and American Home Shield were terrible with communication and and maintaining their appointments this repair took about a year to make. They would reschedule and not notify set a window from 0800-1500 and not show up. Not the best companies.

Dear Human Resources Team, I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing regarding a recent service experience tied to our Ducane central AC (Service Order Number 13621928, Service Unit Number 0007084), and I’d appreciate your help in reviewing what occurred. We welcomed your technician into our home expecting a motor replacement. Instead, after approximately four minutes, he let us know he would not be completing the repair and then departed. No maintenance, preventative or otherwise, was performed, despite the service being billed as such. In fact, more time appeared to be spent in the vehicle processing a receipt than engaging with the equipment itself. Prior to the visit, we were told the service call would be $129. We were then charged $229 for a visit in which no actual service was rendered. That disconnect is concerning, not just financially, but in terms of trust. I want to be clear, but also fair: we value honest work and clear expectations. When those two things don’t line up, it’s important to pause and make it right. In this case, charging for services not performed, particularly at a rate higher than what was quoted, does not reflect good faith. Because of this, we will not be paying the $229 charge. Instead, we are asking that it be removed and that written confirmation be provided once that has been completed. Sears canceled service on me TWO TIMES IN A ROW, when I try to talk to you a human, it just repeats that only AI Chat is available to help me reschedule for another day. How is this place in business. Strongly advise using someone else!

My freezer was supposed to be serviced but instead the fridge and freezer both seem to be completely not functional now. The temperate keeps rising. Worst service ever.. Do not use sears.. I have had multiple bad experiences with them.
