Beginning 10/24/25, 5 separate dates and techs were sent to repair my compactor - 3 of them had no idea of how to do the repair, but ordered parts not needed and had do be returned. The 4th tech, Thomas N., correctly ID’d the problem and ordered the right parts. During the process, 2 appointments were cancelled by Sears with no explanation or lies. Finally, after 4 scheduled dates without fixing the problem, Donald W. was sent and with the part Thomas had ordered and was able to get the compactor working. Donald was knowledgeable and effective; however, the entire process took almost a month with 5 different technicians, 3 unwarranted cancellations, and 7 days of my time wasted while waiting of technicians. Totally unacceptable treatment from a so-called “reliable and trustworthy” company. I will never attempt to do business with Sears Home Services again and will advise anyone who asks not to!

Terrible communication. Moved appointment 8 times! Never came to the house and then sent me an invoice for services provided. Called for support, it took 20 min to get a human and she was condescending, provided 1-2 rigid options and acted like she was reading from a script. Terrible experience.

Paid $129 for a service call with absolutely nothing done. Technician arrived well after the arrival window, no phone call at all, parked completely crooked in the driveway (took up three spots), and said he was exhausted from his long ride. All of that no big deal, except when I explained what’s going on with the fridge (ice maker is leaking when water is turned on), he gave an exasperated eye roll, did nothing at all to diagnose, suggested it was the ice maker on/off handle (which is operating fine), and then drew me up an ‘estimate’ for a valve part and installation cost that would’ve been more than the cost of a replacement fridge. It seemed to bother him to even be here. I’ve worked in the trades for many years and have huge respect for technicians, but this was an awful experience. Also, tried hard to get through to a supervisor at Sears Appliance Repair, and couldn’t reach a human. Definitely got taken advantage of.

Wish I could give 0 stars. The tech was supposed to arrive between 7-11, but showed up at 11:30 and brushed it off when I pointed it out. He checked out our induction stove top to tell me he couldn’t find a part to fix it. He tried to charge me an extra $99 to have someone come out to help him lift the stove top to confirm which part was needed (a part that he couldn’t order for me anyway). He couldn’t even tell me how much the part would cost if he could order it. He ended up charging me $128 to tell me he couldn’t fix the stove or even replace it. Will not be using Sears for appliance repair ever again - complete rip off.

Sears has no option to speak with a live representative only Ai and the AI gets stuck in a loop. I've had two technicians come out and both said the parts are unavailable due to the unit being so old yet no one has ordered a new unit and it has been several weeks this is extremely unacceptable

Not happy with this service at all. Would not recommend. We have a service contract on our 25 yr old Jennair refrigerator. The icemaker is always a problem. Last week a repairman came out because the icemaker was frosting up and only dispensing crushed ice. He took it apart and defrosted everything. Put it back together and the same afternoon the motor on the icemaker started making a funny noise, not dispensing ice at all. Called back for a technician who came today and told me the problems were not related and I have to pay $129. Then tells me the motor is burnt out and they no longer make the part. My husband googled the part and found it online. Very disappointed.
