$140 for diagnostics, no services. The price & what was to be covered was miscommunicated with the customer service team prior to appointment. Gentleman that came to house was very kind and informative, but ultimately I would not choose Sears for repair services. $460+ to replace oven igniter.

It took Sears a month to repair my dishwasher and they canceled the repair at 11:15 AM the day they were supposed to fix it and they made it sound like I cancelled the repair and not them. I received 26 texts from Sears about my dishwasher including multiple texts confirming the repair date. I missed two half days of work waiting for their tech to come out because Sears only offers time slots of eight hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, any other company offers either AM or PM so you have a 4 hour waiting time and they don’t flood your phone with 26 texts messages nor pull a no-show half way through the day like their time is more important than mine. As far as the techs that came out, one did the diagnostic service and ordered the replacement part and 2 1/2 weeks later a different tech came out and replaced the defective drain pump, both techs were very nice and professional with the service they provided. They were not the problem as to why it took a month for the repair work to be complete. Sears and the A.I. service they use is the absolute worst and probably the cheapest option available for this type of service. The A.I. named “Richard” sends a ton of completely unnecessary repetitive texts, does a poor job of scheduling service, no mater what date you try to pick it says it’s unavailable and then it sends texts starting the next day that it now has multiple openings on the same dates that the day before were unavailable, if you stick with date that you had no choice but to take in the beginning the A.I. will keep texting you to try to get you to take one of its now available dates and it will keep texting you about it until maybe two days before they are supposed to show up, it now starts texting me to verify the date of the service and the night before the scheduled repair date they want another confirmation for the date and then on the day of the repair they text me mid day to cancel the date because of “scheduling problems” so I have to start the process again. I would NEVER use Sear repair service again in the future and I would NEVER recommend it to anyone I like.

Shane K was very rude, and in need of attention wanting me to stay in the room while he offered over the top information that doesn’t pertain to the consumer. Once he could tell I wasn’t giving him full attention he demanded that I look at him and when I wouldn’t he said I could kick him out. Whenever he began getting hostile, I started a video of he and I in the bedroom and after deciding that having space and letting him work would be the best idea I left the room. Shortly after I returned to the room to retrieve my cell phone, which I had left and he was packing up. He said that he was done diagnosing, and that the problem was putting towels in on a speed cycle and putting in too much detergent? The towels have been put in simply as a demonstration so that we could see what it did on speed cycle. Ultimately, I don’t think that he ever wanted to be on the service call or once he saw that the washer was underneath the dryer and stacked they didn’t have the white door capability to fix the issue.

I’m incredibly disappointed with Sears home service. I would give zero stars if possible. We had an appointment for our washer and dryer today 5/19/25 I was told 12:50-2pm Then was told 2:50-5 Then a missed call and voicemail saying the technician wouldn’t make it and they could schedule for the 21st 8am-5pm. This was all ready after the technician should have been here and we had been waiting for 5.5 hours at this point. I called customer service which was a challenge in itself to find a phone number that wasn’t AI automated. When I finally got a service representative on the phone I was told there was no way to contact dispatch to get an answer on why the appointment was cancelled. And no way to guarantee a specific time spot until dispatch calls tomorrow. And to give Sears a second chance and that they assure me it would be done tomorrow 5/20/25 instead of 5/21/25 My oldest son has autism and any interruptions to our schedule throws him off and makes life incredibly hard. A 6 hour interruption today was hard enough. Being told a 9 hour time frame for tomorrow was unacceptable. We canceled and found another local company who guaranteed a time spot for 8am tomorrow 5/20/25. Do yourself a favor and Stick with local/family owned businesses.

Tim the technician was great, on time and very professional. The only issue was speaking with a real person to confirm appointment and scheduling times. The Al assistant was horrible to use! It would not confirm scheduling changes to which I had to wait an additional week for the repair. Horrible to the point that I would not use Sears Appliance Repair again.
