Had a leak in my furnace pipe and all the tech did was slap some glue on it.

I had the worst dealings with Sears Home Warranty. The Tech was unprofessional, and was not willing to fix the issues. The Tech kept closing the Repair work order like he fixed the problem and never did. And when I asked to speak with his manager he hung up the phone.

I needed someone out to work on my refrigerator and two days in a row after confirming appointments (4 hour windows which required me adjusting my schedule) they waited until the last minute and canceled on me.

I had two repairmen in one day (Sears was unable to send someone who could both do the annual A/C maintenance and the compactor repair). A/C service was fine, but technician on the trash compactor was unable to fix the problem after five minutes of "work" -- then I received a receipt showing no charge, which I figured was fair since he spent very little time and accomplished nothing -- so I was OK that he couldn't fix it as long as there was no charge as shown on the receipt! But then my credit card bill arrived and showed $100 for that "service". When I called to complain, no refund was available (they offered a second service call, but since their own technician said it couldn't be fixed, we had already ordered a new product. The technician never mentioned the option for a second technician to come or for replacement of the appliance. With no adjustment to the $100 charge, I asked to cancel the service / monthly plan and was forwarded to someone else and was disconnected on that call, and then disconnected again when I called again -- so disconnectedTWICE !! THIRD person (actually fourth if you count the original person) I spoke to asked why I wanted to cancel (this was the fourth person I'd told the story to them). This last person argued with me for almost 15 minutes and did not listen to my repeated and absolutely unambiguous requests to cancel. in the process they mentioned that the technician said our dishwasher was working fine -- but we don't have a dishwasher!!! Then she then insisted on reading me a long speech about the loss of benefits and the fact that there would additional charges of well over $100 just to cancel! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS PLAN. Sears is inconsistent in its ability to provide service as promised and will not stand behind its service plan. The company is also frighteningly stupid in its policies -- if they had refunded the $100, they'd be getting $50 a month in continued premiums for far longer than two months. Instead, they chose to keep their $100, charge me more to cancel, and never so much as "we made a mistake" or calling in a supervisor.

They came out because I get a gas smell when my oven starts, the technician didn’t smell it and said nothing to do. Charged me and said if the issue continued I could call back in 30 days and they’d come back for free. I called because it happened later that day, now they say I declined a repair (No repair was offered) and they would have to open a new ticket and charge me again to come out. Worthless

Problem was not resolved. Technician stated since he was not an electrician, he was unable to determine what the issue was - if it was a blown fuse. Resulting in my needing to schedule a follow up appt with a tech who could determine the electrical aspect as to possible problem that’s its not lighting.(2) Day 2.. another tech returned today 12/4; after sharing with him the situation he also stated he was not skilled as an electrician & unable to assess the problem. 12/8.. 3rd tech visit was the same tech who responded on 1st day. He’s not an electrician capable of assessing the problem. Not sure why Sears keeps sending out same level techs who are not skilled to handle appt. System does not offer opportunity to speak to a live agent. At this point I will file complaint with local resources.

There are still issues with my unit that hasn't been resolved, no parts has been ordered. I just need to thoroughly diagnose the issue, stay at the residence until the job is satisfactory. Just the integrity of a company and it's workers goes along way. Why not fill proud about the job you are doing by diagnosing and truly fixing the issue and if the techs aren't sure bring in reinforcements have a more experienced person or company come out to resolve the problem. Resolutions are the goal. This isn't about one specific person just as a whole.

I tried to go local with McCollum Appliances in Frankfort, Indiana. Even though I didn't request it, somehow Sears got the job. I tried calling McCollum by the phone number on their webpage and it no longer is in service. A representative came to my house and turned on my dryer. Within ten minutes, he said it was the wheels that needed replacing. He didn't have them on him, which seems odd. He told my daughter that we owed $360.75 to fix our dryer. She paid the service man and he didn't give my daughter a receipt. I was told that parts were ordered and I needed to track them. Why I had to track parts that the service man should have had is beyond. me. I had to wait two weeks before we could get parts, and find a time when both parties had an opening. I got the parts in the mail. I looked online with Amazon to see how much they cost and it was around $24.00. The service guy came early last Saturday and fixed the dryer in 30 minutes. I was at work again at the time and called him to ask for an itemized bill. He said it was $300 for labor and $60.75 for parts. I questioned why it cost so much and he just said that is just the way it is. He said he could take money off of my bill if I signed a service agreement that would have monthly charges. I cannot believe how Sears does business and how much they take advantage of their customers. How would they feel if they were on the receiving end like we are? I tried to dry my clothes and the dryer is worse than what it was. Before, it made a loud noise, but it dried the clothes. Now the dryer isn't drying the clothes at all.

Don't ever call the number that is listed on the Google ad. It will take you to a scam trying to sell you emergency alert systems. When I finally did get a hold of someone calling the local number, it still routes you to a foreign call center. I made an appointment and they entered all of my information wrong! It took me forever to be able to call someone back, and then they couldn't fix their own mistake (they entered my zip code wrong) all they could do was cancel my appointment and I have to wait hours now to see if it's going to cancel. This is absolutely a terrible company and a terrible scam.
