While Elian, the tech, was fine and polite, I am extremely discouraged by your AI system. I knew that parts for my fridge were likely difficult to source and was trying to get a HUMAN to advise me on what parts might be available. I got caught in the loop of AI hell. I think it's ridiculous that you cannot speak with anyone to ask questions in advance that are pertinent to making good decisions. I will never use your services again and will certainly share my displeasure with everyone I know.
Jon A,
Customer service response - We apologize for the frustration with our AI system, Jon. Thank you for your feedback, and we're glad to hear Elian was polite during your service.

The technician was here. Diagnosed the compressor was being overloaded. Made setting adjustments for the freezer from -4 to 0. It seemed to fix it. Now for the last 2 hours the fridge is constantly making a large noise. It started roughly 12 hours after the adjustment.
Kyle O,
Customer service response - We're glad the technician could assist with the initial issue, Kyle. We apologize for the new noise concern and suggest contacting us directly so we can address it promptly.

I like the fact that I called earlier in the morning and they sent someone out the same day. I didn’t like the fact that Anthony was there for five minutes and was already telling me what was wrong with it without even running any tests until I told him I wanted him to check the compressor after I told him what issue I was having. He was already saying what the problem was after 5 mins of being in my home, not sure if he was even opened up the door. He said he I deal with this all the time well maybe you do but at least run some tests if I am going to have to paid $119, just for you showing up!! . He told me my compressor was really hot but when I google it, the average temperature is 130 to 170 my temperature was 112.on my LG refrigerator that is only 5 yr old. I will not be calling them again

Technician Shaun G. saved this review from being a 1 star. He showed great, timely communication, follow through, and expertise. As for the Sears company, they left much to be desired. 1) They canceled/rescheduled 6 times. 2) The online system is terrible and not intuitive. I could not contact a human to assist when the repair agent went to the wrong house (as documented in their own picture). 3) They sent two new replacement parts and one was not operational.

Repair request was for ice maker not working. There was an issue with a line that was resolved but the ice maker itself was not tested and still does not make ice. It was not diagnosed correctly. I will be calling in the morning to request another visit but I will not be paying for another visit of $119 when the original issue was not resolved..

Sears/Sears Home Service/Kenmore I have documentation to support statements of fact. I called to have my refrigerator serviced as it was not cooling at all. After dealing with the AI system for far too long, I finally got a person who talked me in to their home warranty and stated the compressor was under warranty per the serial number of the fridge. I scheduled an appt for the next day (Valentines day). The tech arrived and stated the compressor was under warranty but labor was not and another needed to be replaced as well. He quoted a price ($562.44) to repair the fridge, I signed it and paid for the repair in order to get the parts ordered. The parts arrived and I scheduled the return appt for 2/18. A different tech was to arrive at 9am. He called at 845am and stated that since the compressor needed to be replaced, he would need to stop by a store to get a part for repair, but would not be long. After no calls all day, he arrived at 245pm, brought in his equipment and went in to kitchen. A few mins later he asked for a waiver to be signed for any damage he may cause and said he would have to use a blow torch for the repair, after a bot of back and forth I signed the waiver explaining that melting my floor was not an option. A few more mins later he got my attention to tell me that the compressor was not covered by the warranty and it would be an additional $500. I explained the woman on the phone verified with the serial number and the first tech did as well, it would be covered by the manufacturers warranty. He insisted it was not and tried to force me to pay the additional $500. I got the impression he either did not want to do the job or did not know how to do the job. I told him I signed the quote and paid already, we have a contract. He was not interested in this info and stated, I would have to pay. I refused and told him to leave. The parts remained at my house as I had paid for them. I tried to call the company about this price gouging and fraud behavior. They stated they could not do anything or see anything since the tech was still on site. I found he was sitting in his vehicle a few houses down. He sat there longer than he was in my house, still "on the job". I was very upset after being transferred to multiple different departments and ultimately being told that I was stuck and would have to wait until the next day to talk to anyone. I clicked on thr link in the appt and rescheduled for the next day hoping to get someone else who wanted to work/knew how to complete the work. At 8am the very next day the original tech arrived, I explained the events that had transpired. He apologized and stated that he should have been the one to come back, but now it would be an additional $500 for the repair. I told him to take the parts, refund the money, and have a supervisor call me. He showed me on the phone he was going to refund the initial payment ($562.44) minus the diagnostic fee of $119. I advised him on the job it showed a coupon code and the diagnostic fee was $59.50. He adjusted the refund and showed me on his phone the amount would be $502.94. I agreed and he took the parts. I called the company to report this interaction, cancel the home warranty, and insure the refund was going to happen. After being transferred to multiple departments I spoke with an agent who refused to cancel the home warranty and stated "Sears can not treat people like this, that they would make it right". I agreed to wait for it to be escalated but his manager was on the phone and would call shortly. 6 Hours later I called back and was transferred to 6 different departments before getting to "Loyalty". A very nice woman explained that the job had to close before anything could be seen or escalated. I agreed to call back 24 hours after the appt. So after 24 hours (Friday afternoon) I called back for "Loyalty" and was transferred to 7 different people who stated there was nothing on file, nothing they could do, it was the responsibility of another department. I finally got a person who stated a refund had been issued for $443.44

I am absolutely disappointed with the service I received from Sears Home Service technicians. They made three visits and neither technician was prepared and there was no communication between them because I had to explain what the previous technician did to the unit. I will never use them again. They get 0 ratings
