Extremely Disappointed with Technician’s Conduct and Misleading Report I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service I received from this technician. I filed a home warranty claim because my cooktop had a visible crack. When the technician arrived, he briefly inspected the cooktop, then disappeared into his van for nearly an hour without any communication. When he finally returned, he told me that my home warranty would not cover the repair because the cost was “over the limit.” I asked what that limit was, but he gave no clear explanation. To get clarification, I contacted my home warranty provider directly. They informed me that coverage was denied not because of any cost limit, but because the technician had reported the issue as “misuse.” That was shocking and completely inaccurate. I’ve used my kitchen responsibly for nearly five years, cooking regularly like any normal household. There was no accident, abuse, or negligence involved — just a crack that occurred over time through normal use. Everything else on the cooktop is still functioning; it’s just not safe to continue using with a crack. What’s even more frustrating is the clear contradiction between what the technician told me and what the home warranty provider shared. This raises serious concerns about honesty, professionalism, and accountability. It felt like the technician either didn’t want to do the work or deliberately misrepresented the situation to avoid repair. I would not recommend this service to anyone. The experience was not only unprofessional but left me feeling deceived and unsupported in a situation where I expected help.

I am not usually one to complain but I’m beyond frustrated with Sears. My home warranty company assigned Sears to fix my fridge/freezer. The tech did some troubleshooting but ultimately told me that I needed to replace my water filter (which wasn’t due yet) and said “if that doesn’t work, I don’t know what to tell you.” As expected, replacing my water filter did not fix the issue. My home warranty sent Sears out for a 2nd visit and I was told today that they couldn’t do the repair for two reasons - my appliance has a manufacturer warranty that covers the repair (not true, I called GE) and that he can tell someone else has already done repair work and he can’t work off someone else’s repair. I tried to tell him that I bought the fridge brand new 3 years ago and no repair work had been done and he said Lowe’s must have done it. I confirmed with GE that this also isn’t true. Nothing is fixed.

Submitted a request through my insurance. They didn’t come out or call. I called and booked an appointment which no one came out then they marked my order as closed and fixed! I called Sears and told them no one came out to fix my appliance but the lady insisted that their technician came and fixed it!

The technician did a fine job but $340 to change a light panel? He was here a few minutes and that was it. Labor charges were ridiculous. Plumbers and electricians don't charge that much.
