First tension arived late for both appointments. Late enough for the second (on Friday) that Lwas just leaving for another appointment. He said that he would return in about 6 & 1/2 hours but didn’t so I had to reschedule for Monday meaning that I was without my washing machine for two more days. A second technician arrived early on Monday and promptly completed the repair.

I need the part information the tech advised we needed. Gear Case is all I was told and cost 363.81. That cost does not include the 374.88 labor cost. Tech advised that due to age of washer we should call GE about warranty. I have done that and they advised I need to provide part number so they can either offer a discount for part and ship it to us or if it’s free and covered by warranty. How do I get the part information and why was that not provided to us for the charge of the house call of 129$? Tech was kind but visit was very brief once I said we would not be paying more to repair then what we paid for new unit.

I purchased and bought an extended warranty through Conn's (that's going out of business in our area), so I contacted Conn's on September 9th about my Ice Maker not making ice. The next day it so Sears contacted me via text scheduling a repair date at around the 1st week of October. I was contacted by the tech so that he could get an idea if what was going on. He then ordered a new I've maker. We received the ice maker and shortly after received a text to move the date up to September 25th. The tech came but the new ice maker did work (rotating wise) better than the old ice maker but it still didn't work. The tech said he'd order another part and be back October 28th. We received the part and was contacted with an earlier repair date but my mom had a cancer treatment that day and I couldn't be home. I received no other earlier dates. So on October 28th, the party was installed and we think and hope that the ice maker will work this time. Going all this time without that ice maker was a big pain in the ***. The long stretch of time is what frustrated me most. I care for my mother in law, my mother and my 2 grandkids during the work week. The rating for the techs, courteous, business like, and had knowledge of the repair needs, I would rate a 5...

Sears does not have any way to talk to a real person. All interactions are automated. They will give you a date for your repair and cancel at the last minute when you have rearranged your day to be at home. Then they will put off the appointment for several more weeks! We have waited about a month after we got the parts for our washer to get an appointment. For what it cost me at the laundromat, I could have bought a new washing machine!

I don't recommend it. Giving a 9 hour window so I had to take a full day off work, especially when the appointment was canceled at 4:45pm isn't acceptable.
