Daniel, my technician, was wonderful. He worked hard to fix the issue with my dryer and was helpful. However, the Sears system is setup where it does not allow a technician to order parts that they see need to be replaced, so he was able to identify which parts needed replacing, but the system wouldn’t allow him to order them. ? So I now have to call back and setup another appointment to get the actual problem fixed. This puts a huge burden on the customer. By the time all is said and done, I’ve not only paid for the Protection Plan, but I’ve also labored hours of time just to get my dryer fixed. Not sure that I would recommend spending the additional money for the Protection Plan.

This was the worst experience ever! I placed the repair order the beginning of May 2025. For months they would continue rescheduling the appointment because the part wasn’t ever ordered and delivered. When I would ask the technician for a phone number to contact Sears directly, they wouldn’t give it out. They just said that there was orders and they’ve had these issues with the part orders being delayed. The only phone number that Sears has for the repair part is now AI only!! The only thing that we were waiting on for the dishwasher was for a new seal because it was leaking. It was just delivered Saturday, August 15, 2025 and finally installed Monday, August 18, 2025. I have no complaints about the technician that installed only about the poor customer service that Sears home repaired now provide provides! I paid $50 for my refrigerator repair and that still has not been fixed. All that was needed was new seals on the refrigerator and new containers to be ordered. I have no way to get in contact with Sears to speak to an actual person but only AI. Very disappointed in Sears as this was a long-standing company and of course I know they probably outsource or have outsourced their repair business. Do not use see repair for any appliances that need repairing!!!!!!!!!

I can't rate the technician, he did not repair the water dispenser. I tried it after he left and the water would not cut off.

The technician got upset while working on my stove and made me feel very uncomfortable. He fixed the heating element but must have broken the legs on the stove because it is wobbling like it’s about to collapse. He tried to say it was like that when he arrived. It’s completely unsafe to use now.

Sears so called AC technicians say they don't work on the entire AC unit, we had 2 guys come to attempt to fix a cooling issue we were having. The first one, changed a capacitor and it worked for 2 hours. The second one said the ac was cooling when it was not, our thermostat was set to 72 and the house was a 78, he didn't understand basic principles of HVAC and said they only work on the outside unit. According to him it was working properly, he didn't even take out the panel to look at the capacitor his partner has just replaced. We had a professional come this morning to our house and it turns out the idiot who came the first time didn't wire the capacitor correctly. And their customer service office is not even in United States, they are in India. What a disgrace. Sears is taking jobs away from American citizens and hiring so-called technicians who can't tie their own shoes.

We have been without a refrigerator for a month because of Sears Home Services. Today a technician was supposed to come to the house to repair, while there were 3 people and 3 dogs home, we were told no one was home and now have to wait over a week to be rescheduled. You are telling me they came to our door, knocked and/or rang the door bell without a person or dog knowing. Absolute incompetent technician and no help from customer service to contact someone who can fix this problem. Sears Home Services... telepathy is not an acceptable way to let a home know of your arrival. What a joke.

The telephone system asked me my zip code before I spoke to anyone and once I had a live person on the phone she could not tell me the price of a service call without having all of my personal information. I do not need my info in their database until I know I want to use them for repairs.

I wouldn't recommend Sears repairs to my worst enemy. I've had the displeasure of being forced to deal with them 3 different times now because Choice home warranty for some reason contracts with them. Ticket #1 the fridge: the water dispenser stopped working. A tech came out and forced air through the line, which worked for a few days, and then stopped working again. Another tech came out and told me there's nothing wrong with the fridge, I need a plumber. I called a plumber, who told me there's nothing wrong with the supply line (but replaced it anyway to help me prove the point to Sears) and that the issue is inside the fridge. Sears tech #3 was scheduled to show up, never showed up after i sat at home all day, and put a note on my account that he came by and rang the doorbell but no one was home. Which was an absolute lie that he just didn't feel like doing my job that day because I sat in view of the door and the truck GPS never came anywhere near my city. Tech #4 came out and finally figured out the issue. 5 days I had to take completely off work because Sears can't provide a more specific time estimate than "between 8-5." Ticket #2 the stove: I have an older stove that isn't working correctly. The tech comes out and diagnoses that I need a part that isn't made anymore, but he has to place the order anyway because that's how the home warranty covers it. He does that and I hear nothing for months. I call my home warranty and they said they never got an update on the situation so I have to call Sears to follow up to get my ticket moving. Well, apparently it's impossible to get anyone from Sears on the phone as a customer. It's a never ending robo loop. I called multiple ways, left messages, sent many emails, no one ever got back to me. I had to end up going through a higher up at the home warranty to override the ticket to replace the appliance because we couldn't get ahold of anyone at Sears. Ticket #3 A/C: one of the vents in my home started leaking water down my walls when the A/C runs. I placed a ticket in for A/C and much to my dismay, it is assigned to Sears. The day of the ticket, I again took a day off work to plan to sit around from 8-5, and the assigned tech calls me in the morning to apologize and explain to me that the vents and ducts are considered a different system and he isn't able to work on those. He told me that Sears doesn't work on ducts at all. So someone at Sears saw my ticket and still assigned my ticket to a tech, when they should have known it was a system they don't even service. Luckily the tech read it before wasting his time driving out there, but I'm angry I had to waste yet another day of leave from work for this. TLDR: Use ANYONE besides Sears for your repair needs.
