My 2 year old GE front loading washing machine stopped draining water. I immediately started trying to find a repair man who could come out right away to fix the problem. I called Sears appliance repair and they stated they could come out the next morning. The repair man arrived just after 7:00 am and I told him that my GE washer stopped draining water the day before. This man had not even touched the machine yet and he started saying that GE washing machines are known for having the motor burn out which in turn usually affects the electrical system and it costs between $600 and $700 to fix. He proceeded to drain the water with a shop vac and then he accessed the filter in the bottom right hand side which was clean. He reached inside this area with a long tweezer looking tool and immediately said the machine motor was broken. He needed to look up the part but he could not get a good signal on his cell phone so he left and drove about a mile down the road. He called me within minutes and said the motor, parts and labor would cost $593 or he could lower the price to $340 if I signed up for a one year service plan through Sears for $62 a month. I did not feel comfortable with this gentleman. While he left I found out through the store where the washer was purchased that the motor has a 10 year warranty. I called the service main to inform him of this and he said I would need to call GE to have a new motor sent to my home. I advised him that I had a hard time believing the motor was broken since the machine is only 2 years old. He immediately became defensive and said if I wasn’t going to go through with the repair I would need to pay the service fee of $119 for diagnosing the problem and he immediately sent an invoice via text. When the invoice wasn’t paid within an hour this man started calling my phone repeatedly and leaving messages that said if I didn’t pay right away he would send the invoice to collections!!! I called the store where the washer was purchased but they have a 2 week wait for repairs. They did however recommend someone who they highly trust for repairs. My husband contacted this man and he came to our home within the hour. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty pump motor, NOT the overall motor. He also said they only way to diagnose that problem is to take a part of the machine which the serviceman from Sears never did. The new repair man had the machine fixed and reassembled within 40 minutes and the total cost for parts and labor was $250, a huge difference from $593 that Sears quoted . I continue to get automated messages from Sears asking me to call immediately to pay the $119 invoice. I believe it is absurd to pay $119 for an INCORRECT diagnosis. Furthermore, it is extremely unprofessional for this man to literally blow up my phone and leaving threatening messages that the invoice will be sent to collections. This is not how a reputable company does business!!

I called Sears appliance repair for a repair on my LG washer there was a crack on the tub. It took 5days to get a tech and their window is from 8 to 5pm. I already took a picture of the back of the washer to show the tech he just walked in and saw the picture and gave me a bill of close to $1500 dollars obviously I couldn't afford it so I asked if I can do a partial deposit in which the tech agreed so I paid $588 and when the parts came in i would pay the rest. Well, my husband came home and sad that was too expensive. So, I proceeded to cancel the follow up appointment and ask for my deposit minus the initial service fee which was $120. This continued a daily call to sears call center to what i assumed is a call center in India. These people love to give the run around. They kept telling me the refund will be credit back to my card in 24hrs then it wouldn't happen and I would call again and then a promise of 48hrs or they would transfer me to another department that would be a dead end. Still waiting 2 1/2 months later and still no refund. I never got the repair or the parts I ended up calling up LG who has a flat rate of repair for $412 with tax and they did the service call within 3 days and the tech came on a Friday I was his last call and fixed my machine. And Sears still waiting on my refund, Again no parts were sent to my house and no work was done on my washer. Their customer service is terrible I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Never buy from this store! They charge your card more than once without placing an order, they remove your order number from the website and take 20 days to refund your money after a lot of hassle!

Deceptive practice. I was quoted $270 for a part, over the phone, I had given the appliance model number, brand and serial number. Based on $270 quote, I made the appointment. Once here, I was charged $570 for the part, $200 for shipping and $550 for labor. It clearly a scam. They got into my home by giving a fake price only to charge 3 times more

SEARS HOME SERVICES... I have been waiting on washing machine repair for 7 weeks now. I have AMERICAN HOME SHIELD home warranty, who has been NO help! SEARS orders parts, ships them to my house. I have the parts within 2 days. The DAY BEFORE my appointment SEVEN TIMES NOW- they cancel my appt saying "parts are not it"... I have gone around and around with them- I use the tracking number that SEARS provides, which CLEARLY shows all parts HAVE BEEN DELIVERED. It is simply RIDICULOUS! Had I not already paid to have this repair done (the DOWN side of having a Home Warranty plan)...I would certainly be using someone else...however, I must stay where I am due to the conditions...SO INCREDIBLY not happy with SEARS or AMERICAN HOME SHIELD at this point - I think it's time to shop around, and to warn others of the unprofessionalism of BOTH companies. They CERTAINLY do not advocate on the part of the customer!

This company was assigned to me by American Home Shield for an electric stove heat diffuser needing to be replaced. I would not recommend Sears if you have a choice! The service time frame ‘window’ they give is from 8am-5pm. That is not a window, that is just your hours of operations. A window would be 12pm-4pm, big window but at least something to go off of instead of waiting around all day. They are also suppose to call 1 hour before arrival but the first technician did not call. He showed up a little after 4:30pm. We explained the issue with the one burner and let him know the other one was starting to do the same thing. He completely disregarded us and seemed like he did not want to be there at all. He only put in an order for a replacement part for one of the burners and said they would be back out to install 4 days later. The second technician that came out 4 days later did call before he arrived at 11am. I did request they show up in the morning instead of anytime between 8am-5pm. He replaced the heat diffuser and left. A few hours later we noticed the hot surface light would not turn off, my oven light will not turn on and there is now a grinding sound coming from my oven when I turn it on. We called within 2-3 hours of the technician leaving to let them know they messed something up within the electrical system. Instead of sending someone as soon as possible we have to start the entire process over again. Waiting 5 more days before someone can come out and look at it, then order replacement parts and wait for those to come in before installing and again wouldn’t give us an appropriate time frame of when to expect someone since they wouldn’t let me request they come in the morning this time. At this point I don’t even want them to touch my appliances. A simple fix shouldn’t take 2-3 weeks to get fixed and shouldn’t cause more issues than what we started with.

Repairman replaced a part, declared my washer fixed, but when I used it a few weeks later, it broke down with same problem. Sears wouldn't return to fix original problem without new order and excessive overcharge. I had to call another service and ended up paying twice what a new washer would have cost. Buyer beware of anything Sears!
