I have a beautiful Sears counter depth freezer and matching refrigerator. Shortly after installing the set I had a minor problem and called Sears repair service. The service man complained endlessly about what a piece of junk it was. I never called Sears service again until early June 2024. The freezer gasket was leaking air, the ice maker was not working and water was coming from under the refrigerator and covering the floor. Sears now requires that you be home from 8 AM to 5 PM. Two technicians arrived as scheduled, diagnosed the problem and ordered parts. They scheduled a return in 2 weeks. The parts arrived in a few days. On the appointed day of return I changed a medical appointment to be home for the call. I received a reminder of the appointment but no one showed up. I tried reaching Sears but all calls led to a circular artificial “intelligence” that offered no option even close to my problem. I had already paid more than $600 for the parts and repair. I tried every number I could find trying to find a person who could deal with the problem to no avail. Finally after more than 6 weeks of trying to speak to someone I contested the credit card payment. That finally worked. I started getting text messages wanting me to release the payment. I went on vacation and returned to a request to schedule completion of the repair. A repairman showed up and fixed the problem. He was very nice and efficient. Today I received a request from my CC Company and agreed to release the funds. The problem with Sears Home services is their use of AI with no option to speak to a real person. Their repairs are fine but their work is worthless unless everything goes exactly according to script.

Edited after issues and no follow up. Daniel was initially our tech and we thought he did a great job. He was super pleasant to work with. However, after he did the repair, a few weeks later we noticed our dishwasher leaking through our wall. He returned and was unable to replicate the leak after pulling out the unit and doing some tinkering. He handled separate request and as soon as he left, the error code appeared again. We had already spent $400+ on this service in total and were informed that we didn’t call soon enough for a free follow up. Then we were told the repair wouldn’t be covered at all by a separate representative. Daniel had told me the job was on the books, but we were ghosted by the repair company. I made 7-8 phone calls and it took weeks of being told a tech would come back, only to be told our repair wasn’t actually covered, even though we were trying to get him to return to fix what we paid for originally that didn’t seem to work. If I could give zero stars, I would. In total, we paid $700+ to this company for no fix to our dishwasher. This may be more of a reflection on the company than Daniel. Horrible experience with them. Daniel is nice, but the company has been less than cooperative.

Technician showed up an hour early with no text or call. Looked at my dryer told me it’d be 900+ dollars for two mother boards. Tried to sell me a warranty I could use in 30 days, charged me 119.00 to diagnose the issue. It’s a scam period. If you don’t have a warranty apparently. Warranty sounded like a scam too. Avoid at all cost if you don’t have a warranty.

The called me twice and was not found outside my home. On both occasion I have provided him with my home address. At last the lousy tech came to my home, and blamed me for giving him the wrong address. He simply told me that my dryer is fried and started selling me other products of Sears. The lousy tech failed to earn any star from me. I paid him to leave my house.
